Cajun Steamer Bar & Grill

I tried this place for the first time and tried a variety of things to see what I liked but I really only wanted to try the place because I really wanted gumbo.....and it was SO BAD. The gumbo tasted like red beans and rice instead of gumbo with with roux. The sausage tasted like those things you ate from a can when you were 6, it had the weird tiny shrimp that looks like worms that Captain D's has in it's gumbo. It was honestly inedible and 50x worse then I would I would ever expect from a place with the name Cajun steamer. The cheesecake comes with 3 slices, only 1 actually had cheesecake in it, the other two looked like just deep fried brown sugar. I'm usually not this harsh but when I actually have to throw away expensive food because everyone refuses to eat it, including myself, I feel like that speaks for itself

Amazing, authentic gumbo and jambalaya dishes. Their roux is delightful. Had the pastalaya and have been thinking about it for weeks now... highly recommend if you like spice from the bayou!

This is a really cool little spot. I love the decor and general setup. The parking could be better. The food was a bit hit and miss. Grouper fingers were excellent. The shrimp and grits had a whole lot more than shrimp and grits, it wasn't great. Although a bit slow, the service was good.

First time here and it was amazing!! Got oyster Rockefeller, ruby red shrimp, and gator bites.. DEFINITELY will be back to try more. Service was 100. Very nice!! So glad we tried this place and will be back again and I will be recommending Cajun Steamer Bar & Grill to everyone.... Thank you for making our first experience wonderful!!!

Went to try it today. It was just ok. Nothing to scream about. I had the crawfish platter. I'll let you know I'm from deep south Mississippi. I LOVE crawfish. What they serving ain't it. The color of them should had been a redflag. They were a pinkish color. They were small also, with one or two big ones scattered in. They had a rubbery texture and were hard to get out of the shell.The seasoning was ok. It came with two small potatoes ,three pieces of sausage, and one corn. To say I was highly disappointed was an understatement. Only reason I ate them was because it was thirty dollars worth of food that I was not going to waste. Somebody came by to ask how the food was when I got up to wash my hands, so I didn't get a chance to let them know. Sad too cause I was so excited to get some crawfish. My kin folks from New Orleans would put a voodoo on me if I went back after that. Sorry , keep trying

Got the Rockefeller oysters, the Gator bites and the ruby red shrimp. It was awesome. New favorite restaurant.
