They shot a couple of episodes of the sopranos and beverages here are just delicious
Nice historic cafe in little Italy to pop into for a post meal espresso + dessert. We got some Italian cheesecake, which was light and came with candied orange peels.
My mom and I were visiting NYC for the first time and wanted some pastries and desserts down in Little Italy. We decided this place looked cute and yummy. We walked in and no greeting what so ever! We stand there and stand there. The tall, dark haired girl never acknowledges us. She is walking around looking at tables and helping others. Next thing a group comes in behind us and she comes up and ask if they would like to sit. Literally standing right next to us. Still no acknowledgement. Have you seen the movie Ghost? Well that is how my mom and I felt, like we were just ghost in the building watching all the others move around and get waited on. FINALLY my mom says something and the girl comes over and we start telling her what we wanted and she gets the cherry cheesecake my mom asked for out on a plate and puts it on the counter. I start telling her what I would like and this blonde woman (not sure if it’s the owner or manager) comes over and tells the tall girl her teas were ready and she needs to take them to the table. As the blonde lady walks away she looks at us and says she is going to have to take her drinks to a table and will be right back. I was done at this point and we just walked out. All I can say is this was the rudest people! Never have I ever experienced such rudeness in the food industry as a customer. God Bless both of their little hearts.
Honestly just to be able to find a dying breed place like this anymore is a Blessing. Very old school place with AMAZING coffee and Baked Goods as good as anywhere in the City. Sadly LI is almost gone completely and I am sad by this. Roma will not disappoint.
The food selection is not as robust as Ferraras but the ambiance is . The premises has a stuck in 1920s feel. I love it but for the smaller food selection that's all.
