A great coffee shop with pastry and some lunch sandwiches and the like. A nice place to meet and visit over a cup of coffee and a scone. I enjoyed the atmosphere and it wasn't so loud that we couldn't visit.
04/02/24 Update: lunch and a drink. Tuna melt was great and atmosphere was excellent again. Great place to work, study, or just hang out. I will be back! 09/17/21 Update: Stopped by again in the hopes that this cafe had aged well. I was not impressed. Scone was flat and limp. Normally I think of a scone as a finger food. . . you pick it up and take a bite. The scones they sell here today have the consistency of a flat muffin. In order to take it to go, they had to put it in a rigid cardboard box. Normally a scone should be delivered in wax paper inside a paper bag. If they served it this way I would have ended up with crumbs. The latte had a very bitter after taste. Decore was sterile and sparce. Quite disappointing. :( 11/17 update: There's either been a change of ownership or something. Decore has been butchered, sevice was slow and un confident. Place looks like it could close its doors amy day. Im downrating my once favorite coffee shop. 03/17: Epic has been my favorite coffee shop for over a decade. They always have the best home made baked goods, omelets, and of course coffee. Excellent place to visit with friends, study, or curl up with a good book. Customers are always unique as well.
Good food for good conversation or watching the flow of downtown. Thanks folks.
Excellent food. It’s great to find a place that offers both vegan and non-vegan food. Service was very quick. I definitely recommend adding the candied walnuts to the vegan pancakes.
Maggie is my go-to cafe in Tucson. Everyone there is so nice, the food is good, and there's lore . The only downside is they get so busy sometimes there's nowhere to sit :O Vegetarian options: I honestly don't order food often when I go there, but the few times I have I never felt like there were slim pickings. Dietary restrictions: Their muffins and scones are always vegan - I'm not vegan and I always get a muffin cuz they're also just really good. Kid-friendliness: They have a little play section in the back for kids that's visible from most seating places. It has books, toys, and a chalkboard.
We both had the BLT on wheat and a side of fruit. Great atmosphere and polite /efficient staff.
Not impressed by Maggie's at all. I try to find the good points of most places, but it's hard here. You first notice when you enter that it is rather dirty/messy, but hey, they could be short handed. Then the person behind the counter messed up a simple drink order (regular/drip coffee). Later I heard the table next to us complaining about a messed up coffee order as well, but as I wasn't in the conversation I don't know if it was about this place or not. After that it seemed they served other's food before us, but I concede that it could be because their orders were easier/faster to make. Then while sitting outside, my party and food got sprayed with water by someone who started power washing the awning overhead. As a final act, food was "meh" at best. As there are other nearby food options, I personally would avoid Maggie's.
