Love this spot and they treat me well. Good reasonable food. Love the chicken sandwhich. Bartender is a gent.
***Note to Management***The owners/ Management to be fair to paying clients, is to replace the current KJ Karaoke "Host". An honest KJ with integrity, needs to treat every paying customer equally and give an opportunity to those who sign up to sing. The KJ isn't there to sing themselves, the Karaoke is for there for customers to sing.
Welcoming atmosphere that promotes courage to sing karaoke!
The food service the atmosphere was electrifying. It was amazing. We’re still talking about it three days after the experience.
About the only thing I like about this place are the nice employees and the huge zelda-esque lanterns. The food was so bad that I thought I had covid this morning. I feel so sick, and I only had one drink. Looking back I shouldn't have had that one bite of coleslaw. But beyond how sick I am, this place is the worst. They tell you they have a two drink minimum as you walk in, and their drinks (and food) are SO OVERPRICED you might as well go to a nice bar. $10 for some french fries? in this economy? The karaoke is so loud my ears were ringing when I left. They should give out earplugs on the way in. Also K-Town so parking sucks. Honestly not much positive to say.
We got there when the place was empty and put in around 5 requests. Around four hours later we were told that our songs would not be played because “people” complained about us singing 3 out of the 5 songs we requested. The 3 songs we sang were spaced out over the almost 4 hours we were there. We were subsequently told that we cannot request “so many songs” by the make DJ on the clock even though the song request box was openly and freely available to any and everyone who wanted to request a song. So clearly there was an alternative issue. The group of people I was with had to sit through the same 2-3 people singing their songs and we did not have any issue with that as they were there long before us. Clearly there is a problem with this place. Depending on the response to this review we will see what type of establishment Brass Monkey is. Should the managers attempt to avoid accountability ( try to place blame/make false statements about myself and my party), at the end of the day I know that myself and my party patronized this establishment with high hopes and positive intentions. Any lack of accountability on their part just shows their inability to evolve and that not “all” people are welcome.
Dj has favoritism on who sings and what they sing . It’s also a two drink minimum that no one mentions until you walk in . Very mediocre spot
Place constantly does karaoke out of order. On several occasions, people have gone twice before I’ve even gone once. Cafe Brass Monkey — this is not unnoticed and it is not appreciated. Please play songs in the order in which they are received.
