This spot is a great concept, but the food is below mediocre. It is definitely price almost correctly, not too expensive. The waiting staff was very professional and friendly. The main reason why they missed on the 2 stars is because when you are in these caves the staff is not aware of what is happening at the table, if you need more water or salt and pepper you will find your self waiting for long time till you are able to flag the staff down. I wish they had the airplane system. If you need something, you can buzz them up, lol. And the food was very store brought. To sum it up, only go if you are going for the gram or you want to hang with friends/significant other and you DO NOT care for the food. P.s. The truffle potato chips felt like they were lays chips, which was presented very nicely and with truffle oil poured over them.
I live south of NJ and I wanted to go to this place for a long time, I made the reservation for which they asked me for a deposit, we went and the caves look nice, they gave us the table and our waitress took a long time to come and when it came it was nothing friendly, we brought a bottle of wine, they didn't give us a container to keep the wine in temperature, she gave us cup instead of wine glasses, we ordered hummus as an appetizer it was ok, two minutes later they served us the gyros that we had ordered as a main course, we thought it was strange because they basically gave us everything at the same time, we had to leave the hummus to eat the gyros so that they don't get cold. The waitress was never checking to see if we needed anything, the gyros were horrible, they looked like they were made from rotisserie chicken bought in a supermarket, we couldn't eat them, the worst gyros I've ever had in my life, my friend ordered a cheesecake and it looked like it was from a supermarket too. Very bad food and service. We didn’t complain but will never get back!
You might get lucky finding Parking Friday-Sunday. **Make a reservation before you go to ensure you're seated in a cave. The food & service were great ! Overall, it was a great experience. Parking: You're lucky if you find a spot close to the restaurant.
The vibe here is really cool! Ordered the Sante Fe salad and the chicken gyro platter. Both were pretty good. The portions are huge and the prices are great too. The whole restaurant is built like a cave and they have cute and cozy little booths. We didn't order dessert but they are known for eccentric dessert options (half of the menu is dessert and milkshake options). The food was good but not great. I'd come back to try dessert. The menu is like a hybrid of Mediterranean and Mexican food.
Arrived Saturday night, 3 Feb 2024, without reservations and fully expected a wait. We were told the wait would be 1.5 to 2 hours, which we agreed to despite there being no place to sit while you wait. People who came in right after us were told the wait was only 30-40 minutes; we were offered no explanation as to why their expected wait times were so much shorter. There's an up-front area with almost no wait times, which we were not even offered. Literally only one person there -- Dennis -- acknowledged that we had been waiting so long. Literally only one person -- Dennis again -- thanked us for being so patient. When we were next to be seated, Dennis said a nice table had opened up, and was immediately belittled and spoken down to by a young female hostess for not reserving that space for someone with reservations, even though we were next and no one with reservations was waiting to be seated. Service was SLOW. The only person who checked in on us? DENNIS. We weren't even his table, and yet he took it upon himself to make sure we were taken care of. The overall experience could have been so much more than it was. We were never made to feel especially welcome, and the service was so slow that we ended up not ordering dessert. Dennis was the only bright spot, and we have no idea why he was spoken to so disrespectfully by the young hostess up front. If you decide to go, please ask for Dennis by name -- everyone there could learn something from him -- and we're sure you'll have a much better experience there than we did.
The staff is always outstanding. The ambiance is top notch. The food is yummy. I've been going to this restaurant for about 10 years and have had zero complaints.
Very disappointed, I paid for the cave the theme. Otherwise, nothing that entice me to come back. I ordered a falafel wrapp. Recomended by the waitress. It came with potato chips from a regular potato chip bag. Who eats potato chips in the middle east. I was expecting a Mediterranean experience, but it was a total disappointment.
