Cafe Amsterdam

So to start this experience, I will mention the dark dining room before the hostess asked if I was waiting for another to join me. As they have a sign up that clearly discourages solo dining. I personally tend to get nervous when I am the only patron in the establishment. But I shall as always press on. So this will be interesting as I can'tsee anything actually being cooked. I can see the kitchen but haven't observed actual cooking. Nor can I hear any cooking. As my food arrives I have a simple presentation. Eggs Benedict with country potatoes. Unfortunately the flavors are not present. Very dull, lots of paprika and not a good paprika. Similar to the flavors of a deviled egg. Since my plate was served so quickly I suspect that most if not all was reheated. And fairly cold. I attempted to eat 10% of it but couldn't. Unfortunately another cost cutting restaurant. The potential was there but the passion was not.

Very fast and delicious breakfast to go. Eggs Benedict are pretty good can’t wait to try more

Cozy place for breakfast or lunch. Consistent and interesting menu and beer selection, the kids love it for waffles & pancakes. Vegetarian options: Substitute a veg patty for meat /eggs and there are plenty of filling veg options

My partner and I came here for brunch and we were so pleased! Service was fantastic. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. I had the maluska Benedict with the salmon lox and it was one of the most delicious meals I've had out. Really loved it here. We will be back!

Safe and delicious!! Wish I could have breakfast there everyday!! Don’t leave without trying the cottage potatoes and berry jam that’s made in-house! I appreciated the servers and patrons wearing masks, servers could be seen washing hands and the food was great. The servers were attentive and this menu reminded me of The Netherlands.

We came because of the salty replies here in Google. Not disappointed! The food is great. Very clean and nice. The staff were very friendly to us. You can tell they put a lot of pride in the food and work. This is an owner-operated place- so the quality is legit!

It's one of our new favorites. Food has been excellent every time. Their Eggs Benedict options are the best I've seen in Anchorage so far. As with any place like this, timing is important, but even overburdened staff handled us well. Parking: Plenty of it. Kid-friendliness: Best grilled cheese!
