Butter's Soul Food To Go

This place is HORRIBLE the food is disgusting I walked in and really should have just turned around , it even looks dirty big red flag but I wanted to support NEVER AGAIN im very surprised their still open if u look at the kitchen part it looks like it's never been cleaned it just gives off dirty vibes smh most of this soul food places just want ur money but don't wanna put the time and quality in to their business hopefully they'll see this and get better cooks and paint n clean the place and just really wanna do better for themselves its so hard to find a really good soul food place anymore

Observed the person that helped in the kitchen going outside to unload food from a car and touching the door knob with his hand to come back in the restaurant and then going to the kitchen where the cook prepare the food and started touching containers of seasoning and removing something from the microwave. I mentioned to the cook and he was like he don't cook the food and I said that he's touching tings in the kitchen. They don't know the customer is always right and I will never step a foot in this restaurant again. You try to support our people and this is the result.

The service was lousy!! Had to wait almost an hour for the food which was already cooked. The ribs were burnt. My first time there!! Will not be going back there again!!

Food was very good

Fish tasted like it was made in 2 week old oil and sides were good. Service was ok could be better though

Quick last minute google search for soul food in Philly and it lead me to go with Butters . I ordered a basic platter fried chicken Mac and sweet potatoes .This spot was ultimately the closest drive for me , I enjoyed the fried chicken it was crunchy and juicy but when I bit in it wasn’t giving to much flavor was definitely giving hot and fresh.The Macc’N cheese was bland needed some salt just a little bit not to much lol ! The sweet potatoes were okay .I prefer mines cut up not mushy (it’s just a texture thing for me ) I did enjoy the Flavor and that was the first thing gone on my plate . Overall I would go back if I was in this specific area again , Just give me a lot of hot sauce

The food there is terrible… fell all the way off.. I asked for turkey wings Mac and yams with a side of stuffin. The man on the phone said “oh wait we do have some yams I found some, good I thought I was gonna have to make some” implying they were old. The stuffin is very dry and taste like stovetop .. they use dark brown gravy like the mix beef pack gravy for the stuffin instead of turkey gravy which is strange.. and they even put it on the turkey wings. The gravy is clotty and super thick… they are honestly nice people but the food is truly trash… honest opinion. I know for a fact none of my food was within the same day fresh… I’ve eaten left overs before and that platter was that..
