Update: this is not a reflection of the people who work there - who have always been courteous - but more about the policy and procedures here. This original review was a glowing one, and I've been back several times for their hot chocolate, among other things; but have had 3 disappointing visits in the last couple weeks: 1 - attempted to get hot chocolate around 10:30 am on a weekend. It was not yet made. I'd understand if this was right at opening, but by 10:30 this was not really an acceptable issue. 2 - got SOUR hot chocolates. Was a couple blocks away, and came back. They tried what they had and agreed that it was sour. Unfortunately, they were not able to offer me a replacement for another 30 minutes, and I could not wait that long, so they offered a refund. Fair enough. Except that I had used a $5 off from the loyalty account, and didn't realize that this was not refunded until... 3 - I went back and found it was missing. Which meant that on top of losing an hour of my time to come here on my last trip, I also lost $5. The person in charge at the cafe was kind enough to take down my number and explained that she would have to call some central office to get the discount refunded. While I appreciate this, it seems like an unnecessary waste of her time. If it's actually refunded, I'll post another update. Lastly, as you can see from the attached photos, their hot chocolate mix does not come with instructions, or an ingredient list. That's fine - I can figure it out; but worry about people with food allergies and sensitivities. I don't think they're actually allowed to sell something like this without an ingredient list. ORIGINAL POST: My favorite thing about this place, and the thing that has me trekking from across town is the seasonal hot chocolate. At just over $7 for a large cup with delicious marshmallow (or whipped cream), the icing on top is that they don't try to guilt you into tipping when you're paying for it!

I’ve been going there for years to get coffee, snacks, some lunches and it’s just ok. Their produce and prepared food prices are the highest you have ever seen in your life. And some of the baked goods are not high quality. There’s not much else like this in the near vicinity so I understand the appeal for convenience.

The roasted coconut coffee is amazing. You can use their grinder for the fresh coffee beans or buy it iced. My favourite!

Busy, friendly, neighborhood market currently expanding into the next storefront. Excellently curated food item choices. The deli staff is helpful and makes the best sandwiches in the neighborhood.
