Butcher’s House Brasserie

This is a fairly well-represented French-style bistro. The staff seem like they care, so the service is great. The food is better than you would expect, but a little less sophisticated than some of the other pricey French spots in town. If you are searching for a cool little bistro that will remind you of France with all the delicious flavors that matter I would definitely recommend checking this place out . It’s a great date spot also as the vibe is cool and sexy. Everything I tried was excellent tasting, and if I closed my eyes, I could imagine myself on some side street in Paris. Also a fantastic brunch option!

WOW! Where to even begin? We went there tonight to celebrate my brother's birthday, and it did not disappoint. Usually I don't review the night of, but they are worthy of all the great reviews.This place has to be one of the best restaurants I've been to in quite some time. Their steak was seasoned to perfection, and is one of the best steaks I've had in OC...I'm even tempted to say the best steak I've ever had in OC. The steak comes with a sauce, but you honestly don't need it. The restaurant is small and intimate. This is a perfect place for a date night or for small groups. The attention to service was a nice touch. Remi was our server, and he was great.

UPDATE 12/2/2023 - The chef on Saturday must be different or new because the food was TERRIBLE today. Soggy fries, soggy burger bun which self destructed while trying to eat it. Salad dressing had no flavor and the burger patty itself was very tough. I no longer recommend this place! Old review: The Butchers Burger and caesar salad exceeded my expectations. The burger was delicious and perfectly cooked. I’m surprised why ketchup was served in a paper cup considering the restaurant is mid to high end, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Could have dealt without the gaggle of people two tables down drunk at lunch and making a crazy amount of noise but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. Thanks for an enjoyable lunch.

I visited the other day with some old friends to have a nice lunch and we were not disappointed. First off, the specialty is meat, first and foremost. I ordered the steak frites and my friends ordered the steak and eggs and they were made to perfection. Perfectly seasoned, good flavors, great temperature, and wonderful presentation. I came in during lunch, so it was not packed at all; however, I did still make a reservation just in case. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice, but yes, it can get loud, depending on who is inside (as it is a small restaurant and things can echo inside). If you want a quieter ambiance, the outdoor patio is great as well. Staff and service were absolutely wonderful, I would definitely recommend a visit, and I would definitely be visiting again.

Only ever had drinks... its a cool spot

The food here didn't hit the mark for me. The endive and beet salad was kinda disappointing - it was so scarce on the toppings, with just a few walnuts, diced beets, and a hint of blue cheese. The hangar steak was cooked just right but needed extra salt. The branzino started off promising but got boring real quick. The prices for the entrees without any sides are a bit too much for what you get.
