Busboys and Poets

Busboys and Poets was a great spot for brunch! They had an extensive breakfast, lunch, and drink menu. Prices were reasonable and service was very friendly. The atmosphere was quite unique. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area! Vegetarian options: I’m not a vegetarian, but ordered the vegetable panini. It was delicious!

Not the best restaurant in Hyattsville in any one category, and so it usually loses out to other nearby locations when it comes down to it. If you're a dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian/vegan, you'll probably love this place. Average quality food with higher than average prices. The little library they have to peruse is a cute novelty.

This specific review is to highlight my lunch experience today. Everything went well, except when I ordered a Don Julio Reposado margarita. 1) my drink was not Don Julio and definitely not reposado at that. It actually tasted like a hint of gin. 2) it had to be rail tequila or a totally different alcohol. The head ache I’ve had all day can only be from one of the two. I know what I like to drink, and how said drinks affect me. There’s no way the drink I ordered would cause an all day head ache for me. 3) the ice was noticeably melted down in the drink; as if it sat at service bar; or the ice used to mix the drink was poured into the glass instead of over fresh ice. 4) when I asked the server if they use fresh lime juice, they said “I think so”. That’s something I’d expect a server to know, as most places include those details in training material. If roses or some other artificial lime juice was used, that could be the culprit of my all day head ache. While dining I decided to let it slide, but after having a head ache all day (from 8 hours ago), I had to leave a review. Overall my lunch was enjoyable, until I left with an all day head ache. The small details, like using the requested alcohol and knowing if juice is fresh, definitely can make or break an experience.

They have THE best avacado sandwich!!! And they sweet pot fries are amazing. They vegan cheesecake was good, even when it was frozen

A good time is always had when I visit here.

This restaurant never disappoints! Food and service are always on point. Love the vibes.
