Found this place on a whim while staying in Charleston and made reservations after reading the reviews. I ordered the Wagyu hanger steak for dinner and the Holy City chocolate cake for dessert. This is one of the best dining experiences I've had. We were seated on time, our server, Josh, was incredible, and most importantly the food was amazing! I cannot say enough positive things about my experience. Make a reservation and check it out. You will not be disappointed!
Wonderful service, atmosphere & food
I’m not trying to hype this place up, but we had an amazing dinner here. The atmosphere was nice as well as the staff. The mashed potatoes were so good (the best I’ve ever had). I would come back just for it as a side item. Salads…good. Deviled eggs…good. Veggies, seafood, drinks & meat…mmmm good. I hope the photos speak volumes.
Burwell's is by far my favorite restaurant in all of Charleston. I have been coming here for countless birthday dinners and any other celebration my friends and family come up with :) Not only is the steak amazing, but anything this place serves is to die for. From the fish to the appetizers to the desserts, this place never fails to over-deliver. Staff is incredible and attentive. People complaining about waiting too long for their food have probably never been to a finer dining establishment. Going out to a dinner like this is meant to be enjoyed with good company, not rushed through like some other fast-food/tourist joint. Also- get the hot rock appetizer!! So fun!
From the appetizers to dessert 10/10. Kathy was very attentive as well as the guy bringing the plates to our table!
On a girls weekend, we made reservations at Burwell's and were not disappointed. The food, the service and the management were above and beyond. Appetizers were wonderful and included the Wagyu Hot Rock and the deviled eggs. I wish we'd thought to take pictures because it was all beautiful and tasted so good. The salads were perfect and the entrees were cooked to perfection. Desserts (Creme Brulee and cake) were the "icing on the perfect dinner". Can't recommend Burwell's enough. Off-street parking as well as street parking is available and very convenient.
Food is ok, nothing amazing. Bartender with beard is splendid, older bartender named Joe is a prick
Birthday party of 6, reservations made well in advance and notified that it was a birthday party. We were seated right next to the noisy, smokey, kitchen. You would think that means the food comes out quickly...it didn't. The worst part is that the $72 ribeye was the quality that you'd find at a local bar for $14. We usually go to Hall's Chophouse and other places in the area. However, we decided to give another place a shot and were very disappointed.
