Delicious fushion of BBQ (brisket, ribs, pulled pork etc) meets Burmese cuisine. Their hours are sparse right now, so on the rare chances I find that they are open i order whether hungry or not. One of the best hidden gems in downtown Oakland!
Oh man!!! The brisket and coconut rice. The sauce and brisket is melt in your mouth... Combine that with the coconut rice its out of this world!!!
Super Yummy, I got the salmon with garlic noodles! I wish this place was open more. It would be really good if they gave a little side of hot sauce with it too!
I'd be here all the time if it was OPEN more, especially at night! Feels like dinner food for me, or even late night, but it's never open then.
So sad to see this place go, I used to go to their place over on the Haight when they first opened up and I never forgot their ribs and heavenly coconut rice. When I heard they moved out to Oakland I was glad to see they were able to branch out and expand. Few years later, I moved out to Oakland and Burma Bear was again my go to place and I got to relive my days from the Haight. Incredibly affordable and delicious food, I'll never forget this place and for the memories it gave me. I'll be seeing you, Burma Bear.
I got the curry chicken with coconut rice (for $11.02). The chicken needed a little more curry, but the dish was overall pretty good - the coconut rice and chicken were cooked perfectly and the small side of pickled vegetables just made the dish more "interesting." This place has few open hours and certain items were sold out when I got there at around 11, so I'll be back to hopefully try their brisket
Soooo good, pork and garlic noodles are bomb
