Latest SC health inspection is disheartening! Roaches, dirty dishes with clean ones, undercooked chicken to name a few!
Collegetown restaurant. There's better options out there food wise. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad and like to think that I have a high threshold for heat related to cooking flavor, however this was greater than Nashville hot this was greater than the hottest buffalo chicken I've had in a normal buffalo chicken salad. I cannot imagine being a normal patron let's just say your average parent and ordering a buffalo chicken salad and having this scorch flavor it was inedible for me and as I mentioned I'm used to hot food. I'm sure it was the kitchen's fault as the server was very kind and on his game. Maybe they used the wrong buffalo sauce, maybe the Buffalo sauce is just super hot but not impressed at all. Burgers looked okay fries looked okay they were not hand cut they were obviously out of a bag, it's a shame because if you add a little bit of hand cut fries and some different temperature variations to the chicken you're probably going to be saving a little bit of money regarding the fries and also delivering a higher quality product. All in all pretty disappointing outside of the service. But as I mentioned it's a college restaurant they're going to get foot traffic and they're going to be fine. But they can do better.
The only issue I had was that my tater tots were burnt. However, the waitress brought me some fresh ones, and the cool thing about our experience is that my hubby and I created out my own burgers, named them, and one of the being a Buffalo burger. Very tender and flavorful. We would go back.
We visited Burger Tavern 77 on a whim, not real hungry but needed something. The place is quirky, cute signage, and different items to look at around the place. We were seated quickly, and ordered (5) pretzels, the plate weren't cleaned properly so he brought us some clean ones, (I hope) We ordered from the Savor Sweet and Unique menu, and got the glazed sugar donut burger with a side of onion rings. 1) The pretzels were over fried, burnt, and hard. The cheese sauce was good, and the mustard was too. No regular ranch, but some other one. 2) The donut burger, was something interesting, a type of slider, so we ordered the 2 GSDB's meal. Then our eyes opened, and we were really surprised at how tasty it was, and probably would order this one again, and again. It was like lunch and dessert rolled into one. Don't knock it until you taste it. 3) The tower of rings were really good. Good size of onions, batter was good too. We'd order these again as well. 4) The man who served us was nice, and friendly. We only had water, no drinks. Over all we'd go back for that donut burger, and try some other items on their list. It seemed clean inside, bathroom was clean. Over all, we'd go back as they had a very interesting menu and a 77 sauce, not sure what that is though. Enjoy! Parking: Parking is good, just watch a bit as it's an uneven lot, and step up to get inside. I tripped a bit in the lot, of course most everything out here is that way in this patchwork quilt state.
