All things are of good quality but no authentic taste. We ordered beef behari kabab, chicken biryani, Kashmiri karahi, daal, naan & puri paratha. Biryani has watery spices & rice, behari is tasteless, karahi is full of butter and daal is ok. Meet was of good quality but marination was done by non-chef type person. I was with family and arrived from Wisconsin but very disappointed with this branch. We were the customer of Bundu Khan Khobar Branch from 2014-2021 and they have amazing taste of behari and all barbecue items. Let’s start with the good: Chicken karahi is wonderfully flavorful, the larger dining room is delightfully decorated, has a beautiful natural buzz of customers enjoying, lots of big groups and families dining in, great warm atmosphere. The welcoming staff were super sweet and friendly. On the other hand the wait staff are inconsistent, there were multiple waiters attending us which was causing mixed signals. We never got our drinks until we asked for them halfway into our foods, then they put them twice on the bill, which they had to fix later at the time of payment. We also had the chicken bihari which is marinated grilled chicken, some rice and naan as well. I think the bihari wasn’t cooked properly, the fire on the grill must’ve been too high. There was a nice char on the outside of the chicken but inside was barely lukewarm, there was no pinkness or anything but it still kinda gave me an ick. It might be an isolated event but it should have never been served that way. Also the pan chicken karahi is cooked and served in either had no coating left inside or was completely burnt with grease on the side walls. Both options sounds pretty toxic to me. Overall the restaurant is clean, cozy and comfortable, the vibes are good, the food is alright.
This is true that this restaurant doesn’t give tips/gratuity to the staff. Food is expensive but the owner is very poor and so he decides to keep the tips.
