The corn cheese and fried dumplings are so good. The rice paper comes out warm which is nice. The meats are good too
Buga Korean BBQ Restaurant has the All You Can Eat BBQ Menu and also the A La Carte Menu. We went for option B of the AYCE menu. This restaurant is very modern, stylish decor, clean and large dining table and plenty of elbow spaces between your table mates. They have excellent air quality control equipment to remove the smoke and grease from grilling meats. A big plus! Restaurant has variety of side dishes which we liked. A lot of Korean BBQ restaurants have reduced the number of side dishes nowadays. We loved the meat quality and the steamed eggs were very well prepared. Also, loved their warm, steamed rice wrappers. The only thing we didn’t like was the tofu stew/soup which was salty and watered down. We will be back to try the a la carte dishes.
Food is excellent, authentic Korean food. The AYCE menu is value priced for lunch and the banchan dishes were excellent which is rare for AYCE kbbq. One obvious standout is they offer a full menu with very popular and authentic Korean dishes with an array of rice, soup, and noodle dishes that you won’t see in other kbbq restaurants. This is great as I do want to come back to try their regular menu and not the AYCE menu. They are not as fully staffed during lunch but they are prompt when you use the call button. Parking was good during lunch however I can see it being packed during dinner time. Side note: we used google maps to get there and the instructions were wrong, I hope google maps fixes it. It’s right on Clairemont mesa blvd and the highway off-ramp takes you straight to it.
Highly recommend getting the group meal because the quality of the meat is leaps and bounds better than the AYCE. The bonchon needs some work as they were disappointing compared to previous owners. If you want to order some other items: the japchae is the best we have had in town and we have been trying for years to find someone to make it as much as our aunt makes it at home. The mandu/dumplings are crispy. The corn cheese didn’t have much mayo or cheese. Parking: Parking on side and around back
