I am hoping to come back and possibly increase my rating to 4. The food was good, but the place seemed a bit overhyped to me. The hours and lack of seating are a bit of a pain. Highlights: The empanadas, croquetas, and the Trigo were great. The Trigo is a puffed wheat milkshake or “batido”. The description is that is tastes like Honey Smacks cereal and it definitely tastes like a cereal milkshake, which I love. Room for improvement: The mostly early weekend hours, lack of seating, and devoted following makes it difficult to grab a meal here with friends. Maybe this will expand over time. I didn’t think the standard Cuban sandwich or “Cubano” was anything better than some of the others in town such as Papi’s or El Super Pan. I have heard the Medianoche is really the highlight here, but the two times I went they were out of it. I will be back to try it at some point.
Finally! A Cuban spot that does pastries. Yes the flavor is good and its fresh. Authentic in my opinion. Price is too high (spent$70.00 plus $5 in tip) but expected when there is not much competition with Cuban pastries or authentic Cuban food in GA. Also they had no seating available this morning and you can’t eat inside but it was well worth the trip. I will be back again!
Cafe con leche is so delicious. So far I’ve tired beef and chicken empanadas, chicken croquette, and papa… all were amazing! Customer service is top tier! 10/10 highly recommend.
The empanadas are perfectly crispy on the outside with the most incredibly flavorful filling on the inside. The Cuban and Medianiche sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had. The Tres Leches cake is absolutely to die for. Light and sweet and milky and delicious. It's no wonder they were finalists for a James Beard Award. Chef's kiss!
Nowhere to sit! Everything else. EXCELLENT!!!!
