My daughter is having a baby, and I decided to take her and her boyfriend out for breakfast to celebrate. My daughter picked this place, and I was excited to go because I always wanted to try. Unfortunately, our experience was horrible. Our waitress was rushing us and just didn't want to serve us. We understand that it gets busy, but the way our waitress was looking at us and treating us was disgusting. No matter how nice we were to her, she was just horrible. We collectively came to the conclusion that she was a racist. Unfortunately, I have experienced this my 51 year old life since I'm mixed with Hispanic and White. I look more Mexican than white, so I get the racist treatment from a lot of white people, especially further down you go in OC. I normally wouldn't let it bother me, but this was a special occasion, being that my daughter is having her first baby and I'm having my first granddaughter. I understand that as a restaurant, it would be hard to screen someone you hire for this. I'm hoping leaving this post will have management watch for it more closely. We still left her a 40% tip to hopefully show her that us Mexican Americans aren't below her because she's whiter than us. Hate against hate doesn't solve problems. All we can do is pray for her and hopefully she will see that we're all the same color inside.
