Things I love: breakfast, potatoes, fish, and city pop. Things I got at Broder Cafe: all of that and great service.
Delicious food and drinks, overall perhaps one of the best brunches I've ever had. Each dish is not only tasty but also aesthetically pleasing. Friendly staff too. I'm only in Portland for a short time but I may be back again this trip.
I stopped by on a Thursday morning for the Scandinavian breakfast and was not disappointed. I reviewed the menu and ordered the Seasonal Fritter breakfast with Swedish potato sausages, and two eggs. The menu offers Finnish Oven Porridge, Swedish Hash, Danish Pancakes and much more. I received my order in about twenty minutes with no problems. The fritters were served with jam, and were light and not really sweet. The sausages were mild and had a nice taste to them with the potato mixed in. The eggs were not overcooked and had the right amount of seasoning to them. The cafe has a drink and lunch menu with Swedish meatballs, salmon cakes, and traditional open face sandwiches. The cafe adds an 18% gratuity to the bill. The small cafe has outdoor seating and is really busy on the weekend. Located on SE 25th and Clinton, a short distance from SE Division with limited street parking. A nice place to stop for breakfast with friendly service, great food, and a menu with a number of unique Scandinavian dishes.
I really want to like this place. I’ve tried a number of their locations. But for whatever reason it falls flat every time. Between the service and the food, there is a lot to be desired.
I adore this place. I only get to go now when I'm back in town, but I wish I could put it in my bag and take it with me! The Dutchman's Milk is , I've had most things on the menu and it's hard to go wrong, there service is kind and helpful, and the atmosphere is warm. Until next time ♥️
