Brite Donuts & Baked Goods

Definitely good donuts, but overpriced. Hard to justify paying nearly $5 for a single donut.

Very pretty little cafe with outdoor seating space. We only tried the baked goods which were also very pretty and started at $4.50 a piece. The donuts are unconventional--imagine a slightly denser challah shaped like a donut. They're bready and sort of chewy, but it works as a pastry and would pair well with coffee. The staff was friendly and there was plenty of space--no line on a Saturday morning.

Mango chili lime was one of the three available flavors. I chose it over maple bacon and birthday cake. The lime curd was perfectly tart with visible lime flecks in it. The flavor combined with the mildly spiced, mildly sour chili powder and the nicely balanced mango icing was superb. Even better, the yeast-raised dough was pillowy soft without being too bready, crumby, or greasy. Not quite the perfect raised dough, but a very strong contender. The only off-putting thing to note was the price. It was just shy of $5 for one donut!

Unbelievable and truly something new. The flavor combinations aren't just for show they truly make something beautiful with each press of the dough for all the baked goods I've had from them. It's not every day that a pastry shop can be both modern American but also hold it down the classical French techniques. Seriously shines brite'r then any other sweet pastry whole sale account I've ever had the pleasure of serving. Gosh darn. You just gotta try Brite. *clap
