Aside from the great coffee, it's the pleasant experience I have with the staff which brings me back each time. In particular, Natalia. She's a credit to the Caffe! Before I even get to the counter my usual coffee is already being prepared. She remembered my usual order after only 2 visits! This isn't something I'd ever expect, especially in a busy coffee shop in central, but it's something I and many others greatly appreciate.
The staff made a mistake with my order but they didn't apologize. A lady who made coffee even showed an obviously annoyed expression. On top of that, the coffee was watery and didn't taste good at all. I wonder why this place has a lot of good reviews.
Hot chocolate is amazing. Billionaire shortbread is very good. Excellent cafe.
Came in to get a quick latte, admittedly with a couple of modifications (iced vanilla latte with oat milk, decaf). As an ex-barista myself, I don't usually order it that way if a cafe is busy, as I know it's a mouthful. Seeing as it was utterly dead, didn't think it would be an issue. Didn't stop the two baristas manning the bar from acting like I just asked them to roast the coffee beans from scratch in front of me. Bug-eyed expressions of disbelief and smirks with a couple of "I can't remember all of that" type of comments thrown in, plus a send-off that seemed rather mocking. Considering these are all modifications available for an extra charge, I'm not sure what the fuss was about -- £5.50 for a drink is expensive enough, not sure if good customer service is an extra charge on top of that? Decided to come here instead of Pret because the coffee is amazing. But I think I'll save both myself and the baristas here the headache next time.
Very disappointed to be served a tepid coffee. Great flavour but tepid. In asking for it to be heated the barista snapped that it is the right temperature, other coffee shops get it wrong. This is bad customer service. These are thoughts she may have but the customer should not hear them. Insulting to be challenged in this way I asked discreetly.
Pretentious rebrand unable to cover the cracks of its former self. Non-management staff are nice however
