The poor reviews are not wrong. We waited in a long line to order. It appeared maybe they were training someone new… on a Saturday morning during prime brunch hours. Eventually, someone new took over and was lovely. We had waited at least 20 minutes at that point. As others have noted, it just seemed service was a bit chaotic. We ordered pastries, which were really the highlight. Had a buckeye ice coffee. First try was delivered as hot. Once the iced version arrived it was reasonably tasty. Our brunch items were, frankly, pretty awful. We both had meat lovers items. I had the bowl and my other half had the burrito. The poor quality of ingredients and lack of flavor was pretty astonishing. The plating of my bowl was awkward, but I think it’s because the chicken needs to hide under the eggs. The chicken had a nice texture but was completely coated in the aioli like it was a chicken salad. Why?? Totally weird and had no flavor. Eggs were clearly scooped out like from a cafeteria. Sausage truly seamed to be of the poorest quality. Bacon was almost unnoticed and floppy. Definitely not thick cut. Same can be said for the burrito the only advantage I had was the four little potato waffles. They at least had a crunch. The side of Brussel sprouts… was like burnt veggie dust. You couldn’t even get it on a fork. We spent about $60. Could have gone to a chain and had a much better experience. Literally, I’ve eaten better quality at the continental breakfast at most hotels. Atmosphere was also very loud. My partner said it seemed like they needed all their money from the pricey food to pay the rent.

Food was a little more on the expensive side, but it was worth it. Great food, fast service, and fresh pastries. Will definitely come back again.

I did a "trial shift" here. I would never eat from here at all. There was rat droppings found in the pastry display......(that had already went out and been eating by people) As well as very expensive food but somehow they only use salt or crushed red peppers for flavor.( Also thier eggs are sad stiff McDonald's eggs quality and are stored by the floor (in a kitchen that 100% had rats in it))

Possibly my worst breakfast dining experience ever. Went for "restaurant week," drawn by a prix fixe menu with gluten-free options that looked every bit as cute as the name Brekkie Shack. Warnings: 1) poor value, 2) poorly cleaned, 3) no TP in women's bathroom, and 4) very slow service. We ordered at the counter, were given our strawberry "pop tarts," and walked to a table, our feet sticking to the floor as we went. The coffee arrived promptly, but my "dirty chai" espresso turned out to be a cold drink, to my surprise (not noted in the menu). My wife's drip coffee, which she had ordered with cream, came not with a container of cream but with cream already mixed in (and less cream per coffee than she would have used). We nibbled at the pop tarts (sweet pan pastries, like brownies, that did taste like strawberry pop tarts), sipped our coffees, and waited. And waited. It took 25 minutes for our main breakfast dishes to arrive, a breakfast sandwich and a scramble, and the place was virtually empty (8 am on Tuesday morning). There was only one other table occupied (a couple of guys looked at a slide deck on a laptop). My breakfast sandwich had been made gluten-free by leaving out the brioche, rather than by substituting GF bread, which was a little disappointing. Worse was that the dishes were lukewarm, the hashbrown waffles very oily and all crunch, the eggs unseasoned, and the roasted brussel sprouts limp and boring. It turned out to be an expensive experiment in branching out. I should have checked the reviews first!

Got it delivered. The veggie hash was awesome!
