Breddos Tacos Clerkenwell

The food is not bad but it doesn't have any of the brightness, zing and interesting flavours that characterize Mexican cuisine. The fish and mushroom tacos tasted basically the same. I was puzzled that we were sat on very uncomfortable high chairs while the seats at the tables were empty for the entire duration of our stay. The restaurant also smells of stale, fried oil.

Food was average but came quickly enough and was hot. Difficult to get staff attention but biggest concern was when our hostess used our open water bottle as a ledge to lean her arms/ hands on whilst discussing the food options with us. Had to ask for another and wasn’t offered by default. Made me question the overarching cleanliness of the joint.

Good food, atmosphere and service. Would recommend the fish, chicken, and beef shin tacos.

Eclectic vibes were adored alongside tacos and cocktails. Friends were present and enjoyed alongside clean banter. The staff spent effort being friendly, friends, acquaintances and smelled good. Thanks

There is a lot to like, and a smidgen to love, at Breddos Tacos. The food itself has plenty of vibrant flavours, some of which really dance off your tongue. Tacos made in house. Fresh ingredients. Guac so bright it makes you wish you were wearing sunglasses. Plus, who doesn't love washing down some delicious tacos with a tangy margarita or a lime adorned bottle of Pacifico. But the chicken was a tad dry and the black beans that came with the Mexican bowl felt like they could have come straight from a tin. Something about the restaurant itself left my partner and I feeling a tiny bit underwhelmed. Perhaps it was the juxtaposition of going from a screening of Dune 2 to the slightly sedated setting of Clerkenwell on a Saturday afternoon. Perhaps its the paradox of street food at not-so-street food prices. It's difficult to put a finger on and it might have just been a time of day thing. Still, top tacos and worth a visit for anyone in search of original flavour combinations, made by people who clearly care about their food. Kid-friendliness: Staff were really friendly towards our baby.
