I had a glass of draft Breakside White this evening at a restaurant in Ashland. It was the best witbeer I've had in the States in years. Made me think of my time in Belgium. Outstanding!! Next time I'm in northern Oregon, I will stop in.
Flight available with 6 beers. I like that you order from a QR code on the table. Fast and friendly service. The pretzel was too small as you can see in the picture. Parking: Free parking on the street.
Breakside has recently changed their menu and severly downgraded the options and quality of the food. I've been eating here regularly for a few years since moving here and loved the food options and quality of their food - my favorite being the blackened chicken sandwich, their cubano, and buffalo chicken wrap - among other items. However, the new changes have instituted what appears to be cheaper quality in their food. The blackened chicken sandwich comes with a mushy bland bun instead of the old, rustic buns, replaced their wraps and other specials with bland, quickly made burgers that didn't taste all that great. The food options were severely less plentiful and it was clear that prices were kept the same at the expense of cheaper ingredients. From this experience, we'll likely not come to eat anymore. I crave what they used to have - not what they changed to now.
Breakside has always been one of my favorites. This is a great spot with wonderful food and great service .
We don’t know Portland at all, and we’re in the middle of picking up a relative from PDX during a long wedding trip. When we asked him what he was hungry for he said “sandwiches and beer,” so we came here and everyone loved their sandwiches and beer. Service was friendly and quick. Cute neighborhood too. Thanks for feeding us hungry travelers, I’d come back.
Some of the best beer in Portland. I wish they'd ditch the annoying QR code ordering system--I would go a lot more often if they did.
