Let’s start by saying, I usually love everything at the Brass Lantern. The spinach con queso dip was very good, however, the chips were a little over done. I ordered a 9oz sirloin with fries and soup. The French onion soup didn’t arrive with my meal and I had to request it. The sirloin wasn’t seared and was very chewy. Fries weren’t cooked very well. The food just wasn’t as good as it typically is. The service was decent.
The brussel sprouts are the BEST in middle Tennessee!!
PROS: Fresh salad bar with a good variety of toppings and dressings. The hamburger steak, baked potato and the chicken parmesan we had had was good as were the cocktails from the bar. CONS: 30 minute wait for a table at 3:30 p.m. PRICEY ... Especially the steaks and prime rib The menu is a bit challenging with the items that come with the entrees and added prices of the salad bar as it is different for each selection. I did not like the butter that came with the rolls... I wish the waitress had warned me it was cinnamon butter.
I support Johnny Fleeman & I really appreciate the free Veteran's Day meal. The food is ok, but nothing really stands out besides the sald bar & yeast rolls. This place has a lot of potential. Service & food are hit & miss. Need to get & retain better management.
