We had afternoon tea at The Terrace as part of a 5pm deal. Arrived 1pm service was slow, tea arrived 1:30 after we had eaten very poor sandwiches- tomato and plastic like cheese slices, egg were slightly better. Place lacked atmosphere, needed music or better lighting. Haven't been to the Grosvenor in a while, will not be rushing back.

Very basic afternoon tea could probably have whipped up something more appealing at home to be honest. Very very slow service for drinks. Coffee was cold. Food was so basic and not up to thr standard that would be expected from somewhere like the grosevner hotel or bo'vine. No atmosphere no music and absolutely roasting hot. Too many check ins from staff constantly over asking us if we need anything. Cocktail made it to us after about 20 mins and it was really messy and partially split down the glass stem. All in all I wouldnt rate it or return which is such a shame because we were going to do bovine for an upcoming family celebration but we will be looking elsewhere instead now.

We had a lovely meal and enjoyed listening to the background music. We had an ITISON voucher which was part of a Christmas present from our son.

Chateaubriand was perfect as always, only the triple cooked chips were a slight let down and we're overdone with black burnt ends on some of them. That said it didn't spoil the occasion. Bit of a let down with our dessert when they could only find 1 long dessert spoon and could only give a tea spoon to try and enjoy an after eight sundae with?? And being out of Merlot wine is a poor show. Staff as always are superb Won't stop us returning

On arrival we were pointed to a table immediately inside the restaurant, infront of the toilets and beside a parked disability scooter and infant's pushchair. We asked if any other table was available and were shown to a more suitable one of which there were plenty. We had to ask that a tea cup be replaced as there was a large chip on the rim. We were not asked of any dietary requirements and when the afternoon tea stand arrived it contained cakes decorated with strawberries. When my husband informed the waiting staff of his allergy to strawberries it was promptly removed and these cakes were replaced. Unfortunately the strawberry jam on the cream tea layer was not replaced. The sandwiches were made with soggy pan bread and had very meagre fillings. They were artistically decorated with bits of grated carrot! My husband ordered coffee and was provided with a pot containing two generous cups full. I ordered tea which was poured from a communal flask being carried around by waiting staff. I would have preferred an individual pot so that I could have controlled the strength of the 'brew' as the communal pot was too strong for my taste. We had to ask for milk as none had been provided. Whilst I would not have accepted a second cup of tea this was not offered until our food was finished and we were ready to leave. We were looking forward to this afternoon tea which was a gift from our daughter. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. We had expected more from such an establishment. Dietary restrictions: We were not asked about any dietary or allergy restrictions. Parking: I asked about the availability of disabled parking and was told there were two disabled spaces near reception and if these were occupied to park in the drop off zone. On our arrival the two spaces were occupied and there were two cars in the drop off zone. These two cars were still in the drop off zone when we left the hotel two hours later neither of which was displaying a blue disability badge.

Had a lovely evening, brought my mum for her birthday and was not disappointed. I have been a few times and I honestly think the food gets better ever time. Not only is the food outstanding, the atmosphere is excellent and the staff are exceptional: friendly, attentive and go out of their way to make sure everything's perfect. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely tasting steak but not enough food for the £95 paid for the chateaubriand sharing option. Very pleasant serving staff. The weather ruined the atmosphere so nothing to be done about that. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp.
