I ordered the Great Gatsby sandwich for delivery today, and 30 minutes later they cancelled my order with no explanation. It's a good sandwich, but luckily it is easy to recreate at home. Lost a loyal customer of 20 years today. Goodbye. I will no longer recommend this restaurant or try to order from here again.

Before the Bourgeois Pig grew in popularity and expanded, this was a go-to spot to take an avid coffee drinker living or visiting the city. The ambiance and atmosphere of the building was rich in character and when paired with a coffee, made a perfect combination for a quality afternoon. The building still contains that character, but because of the expansion and popularity, anything else positive about my experience remains a distant pre-pandemic memory. The service struggled to keep up with the demand making for an awkward line that became as disjointed as the decor, but not near as endearing. I ordered a 20oz lavender and vanilla latte and was only given a 12oz, despite paying for the larger size. I wasn't given a receipt to prove I paid for it and the cashier and barista were understandably overwhelmed and not wanting to deal with it. I'm glad I only received a 12oz because the lavender in the latte made the drink taste almost soapy. The sandwiches were mediocre and soggy. They rushed the panini press and could have taken longer to firm the bread, but to keep up with the demand and keep the line from getting as out of control as it was, they had to rush them out. You come here because you saw an Instagram reel about how kitchy and unique the building is. When the building is the only quality thing left of a once great coffee shop, you're best to spend your $40 elsewhere. The service, coffee, and food cannot make up such a steep price point.

Such a cozy coffee shop. Relaxed, inviting, good food and drinks. Just great place overall and a must stop if you’re ever in Chicago.

I love this place. Friendly, great atmosphere (love the decor), and tasty food and lattes. Their breakfast food is so good (waffle with fresh berries!). I need to try their sandwiches too.

Literally found a piece of metal(wire-like; staff believed it was a twist tie used for bread bags) in my sandwich. Never had this happen to me at any other restaurant in the history of restaurants. BE CAUTIOUS WHEN EATING HERE. ANY NON-EDIBLE THINGS PRESENTED IN FOOD IS AN AUTOMATIC 1 STAR, IF NOT ZERO STARS.

Vibes are off the chart. A little chilly, but otherwise very cozy. Will definitely come back.
