My girlfriend and I made a reservation for our one year anniversary. There was nothing that I could mention that was negative about our visit. Our server was pleasant and moved the dinner at a perfect pace. I work in food and beverage, and her timing, suggestions, description of the menu, and hospitality are superb. Above all, the food was delicious. I am on a wholistic diet, so the salmon with spaghetti squash and shrimp was worth every penny. I couldn't make it at home if I tried. Will be visiting again in the near future. UPDATE: 3/3/24 Visited again for a weekend dinner with no reservation. The bar was open where Mathew greeted us with with hospitality and walked us through the menu, and showed genuine concern and care to our allergies. Drinks were excellent, and the food was even better than our first visit.

I really wanted this place to be as amazing as it sounded, however it was not the case. Our server Matthew was very knowledgeable on the menu and was a great server, the food was very dry, under seasoned and just fell a bit flat. We left feeling very disappointed and hungry. Such a shame because the building itself is stunning. We would not come back here again, based on the food alone.

My husband made reservations for Valentine's Day because we've always wanted to try Bonny and Read. The entire experience was well worth it and we will definitely be going back. Not only was the atmosphere wonderful, the service and food were outstanding. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, very professional, but also personable at the same time. The seafood was some of the best in Colorado Springs. Parking: There is parking outside of the building along the street but it's very difficult to get parking close to the restaurant. We had to go to streets down. Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessibility getting inside the restaurant

I've been to Bonnie and Reed several times and we went last night for my birthday. It seems I'm always left thinking, "wow, I'll order something different next time, that wasn't very good."what time I had filet mignon and it was not good at all. I sent it back and they brought a new one and it was still not good. I ordered lobster rolls one time which were dry and boring. So last night we had calamari which was not crispy and it was lukewarm. We had stuffed mushrooms which were dry but, at least they were hot. I ordered king crab legs which were rubbery. The shells were not hard they were bendable, weird. My date had ahi tuna which he said he liked but he was sick the entire night! Our other guest had Norwegian salmon and she liked it. We ordered a creme brulee which was really tiny and some sort of chocolate peanut butter cake. It wasn't Frozen but it was cold and the cake was so crumbly and dry and the peanut butter stuff was dry and crumbly, yuck! They put a teeny tiny, itty bitty dollop of whipped cream on the side but I don't even think it was real whipped cream. There are so many good choices in Colorado Springs, I'm not going back to Bonnie and Reed!

Chey makes the absolute best Shirley Temples in the world! Highly recommend giving it a try (add a shot for adults).

Went downtown for dinner, the place we were going to go to was closed, so we went here. When I tell you this is the best dinner I've ever had in my life across 4 countries, 34 states, and countless miles, I can't exaggerate. And I had it on a random Tuesday. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the herb butter they melt on top of it was fantastic. Their fresh Oysters were actually fresh, and came with a variety of sauces on the side if you don't want to eat them straight, and the shrimp, both the scampi and the skewer, were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I will be coming back, even if I move thousands of miles away. I can't think of a better restaurant, and the food was worth every single penny, they could even charge more and I would pay it. That should explain the quality of food here.

I went to Bonny and Read Fresh Seafood and Straks to celebrate Valentine's Day a few days early. Upon entry, the host was on the phone and appeared to be making Valentine's Day reservations for a caller. The call was a little extensive, and we were not acknowledged while we stood waiting. After the call was completed, the host was very nice and apologized for the wait, created small talk, and made us feel welcomed. The hist escorted us to our table, showed us where to hang our coats, and introduced himself and the restaurant menu. Our waiter came over and introduced himself. He gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. He returned in a reasonable time and took our order. My date ordered calamari and oysters for appetizers. The calamari had a good flavor, and it was a good amount for the price. My only gripe is that they were not as crispy as they appeared to be or as what I'm used to. They were a bit soggy. The oysters were really good with three different sauces and served on ice. The cool thing is that they allowed you to order as many oysters as you wanted. We also order a large shareable alcoholic beverage. It was very cute with a shark ocean theme, containing shark candies and fresh pineapples. Definitely top-notch drink and shout out to the bartender! Our main entrées were pretty good. My date ordered the Alaskan Halibut. It was grilled with lemon and was plated over top red potatoes and a side of asparagus. Her dish was very well prepared, and the flavor was great! I would have liked to see a bigger piece of fish, but overall, it was very good. I ordered a medium rare 14oz Ribey steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The potatoes and broccoli were also prepared well. As my dates meal, I think a little more food would have be appropriate for the price point. Créme Brûlée for desert was good. Overall, great meal and service. Pricy for the portions... but good. Parking: Typical downtown parking. I got lucky and found free parking meter in front of the restaurant. There is a paid parking garage just across the street from the restaurant.
