Boichik Bagels

this place makes really good bagels and it’s located in a very cute spot in berkeley. there are lots of cafes and shops nearby as well as a small plaza where you can sit and enjoy your bagel, granted it’s not too crowded. the shop itself is quite small, without seating, but all of the nearby public seating in the area makes up for it, i think. the bagels themselves are very good. the ingredients taste fresh and the cream cheese is spread liberally. i have been here twice now and i plan to come back! it is by no means cheap, but to come here every so often and have a delicious bagel is worth the elevated price. i also quite like the ice coffee.

It's a Jersey 6-7 and a Bay Area 10. Too expensive.

I can understand that the pandemic caused a huge loss in income, and henceforth many businesses have to price-gouge, however, $3 a bagel is too much for a glob of dough. For the price of two globs, you can get a loaf of whole grain bread. And that’s my second point — too many of their bagels are made with cheap fiberless flour. If they used at least part of their profits to feed the Gazans, who are being starved by the Israelis, I would gladly pay for their overpriced bagels.

Best bagels in SF Bay Area; go early before they run out. Line looks long but they are very efficient so it goes quickly. Reminds me of back east!

First time visiting and was really excited to try it - ordered online before for pickup, overall the bagels were pretty good but I was disappointed that they got my bagel order wrong - they didn’t toast either of our bagels and they gave me plain vs. chive cream cheese that I ordered. I couldn’t go back because I don’t live too close by and drove in to get the order. Again decent bagels overall but frustrated they couldn’t get a simple order right. Also like some other mentioned, really hoped they had egg sandwich options!
