The fried fish was so delicious and juicy but perfectly cooked.
Idk how this place has a 4.7. Food was generally over cooked, over priced, they forgot our sandwich, margs were made with pure sour mix for $14. Buffalo sandwich had no buffalo sauce or blue cheese or anything it said. It said it came with avocado on the menu but then they up charged $2. Ahi tuna taco was like a gigantic steak plopped on a tortilla, weird. It's just a gigantic no and really bad.
I’ve never had such bland blackened fish. The fish is very fresh and good quality but unfortunately the flavor is missing. Even just a little more salt would vastly improve the taste. Not only that, but with a line going out the door - the table management needed work. People were coming in and splitting their party and just sitting down while other waited in the line. And when the policy is that you can’t order food until they can assign you a table, it really sucks when people are just sitting at tables taking up space. The atmosphere was loud and chaotic and because of the long lines and hectic vibe, tensions were rising. People were snapping at each other in the line and refusing to move around for people trying to pass by and go to the restroom because they were scared somebody was going to take their spot in line? It was just pure chaos. I just honestly don’t think this place was worth going to again. For very mediocre food and bad atmosphere and crowd management, I’d spend your money elsewhere.
Great ambient, quality of food, fish and great service from Stephanie.
Blue Water has fabulous food! We went on a Friday night, and waited in line for about 20 minutes before we ordered. You order at the counter, and receive a number. Because it was busy, they directed us to the only open table that would seat a party of 5. Our food came quickly, if a bit staggered, and was outstanding. We had the Sourdough chowder bowl, seaweed salad (order this!), cod fish and chips, halibut sandwich, scallops platter, and seared ahi platter. They left a stack of plates on the end so we could all share, and there were plenty of condiments on the table. The quantity and quality of food was amazing. They offer several local brews on tap. Parking: There is plenty of close, on-street parking.
This restaurant is fantastic! We came here after a hike and we really enjoyed the experience. The menu is not very extensive, but the food we bought was excellent, especially the scallops, which were just magnificent. The food is brought to the table fairly quickly, and the personnel is friendly. This restaurant truly deserves its high rating.
This was our favorite place to go for dinner, BC, (before covid) Oysters big and fresh, clam chowder creamy and loaded with clams. Loved the calamari. Good ale. Missing something these days.
Totally worth the wait. Ahi poke was so fresh. Grilled shrimp nacho was so good.
2-27-24 update: The track Taco is awesome, one of my favorite food items in San Diego. Older review: One of the best restaurants in San Diego. Amazing fish tacos. I like to check the little whiteboard/chalkboard that shows the random fish they have available that the fisherman caught that day. The Track Taco is flavorful.
