What an adorable little donut shop! I loved the donuts and coffee that I had. I wish I took more pictures but my phone died. Anyhow, I was visiting Venice & this place as a much if you’re in the area. 🍩❤️ I give this place 5⭐️ Jerry the pigeon gives it 5⭐️

I picked up ~20 donuts for an event and everyone absolutely loved the donuts. They were just soo good that people kept brining up the donuts all day long. I was not able to place an order online (they only do it via doordash or uber eats) but i showed up early and was able to get all i wanted. The staff were super friendly and nice and helped me with labeling the donuts

I went to Blue Star on the recommendation of a friend and was encouraged by the fact that they offer old-fashioned cake donuts - my favorite. An added bonus is their stellar branding and cool Abbot Kinney location. I am only subtracting a star because I was expecting to be blown away, which I was not. The donuts were Vegan, which was cool, and I loved the texture but there is was something about the taste that just wasn't quite there. I have had really good Vegan donuts before and these were not them. I did get a Lemon Poppyseed donut that was really good (I paired it with ice cream for a pretty unique flavor). These donuts also lasted for a while. I kept them unsealed in a box for a few days and the taste remained pretty good. If you are on Abbot Kinney, definitely stop by this place for some donuts. However, I would not make the trip just to try Blue Star. I will be in Oregon in September and I hope to try their donuts there!

I can go everyday for Key lime. Blueberry cake was also okay. Passion fruit cocoa or misosa are quite average...

I ordered The Blood Orange Ginger. It’s better than I think. The ginger is not too much and the texture is softly.
