Almost $7 for a cappuccino … I feel like I got robbed lol

Spoke with Rex, the manager, regarding an issue last week. Resolved and a cup of latte with almond milk on the House. Beautiful. New to the neighborhood, but everytime I pass by, ..its full.

I had a delicious cappuccino in the afternoon. Friendly service. It was kinda full of people who enjoyed whatever they had ordered.

They need to work on their pour over. I'm happy to pay $5 plus tax and tip for a good pour over, but it's not very good. The roast tastes burnt. Perhaps it's because they're using a "winter blend", which tends to be a blend of cheaper, dark roasted beans. Atmosphere: blond wood everything and a Columbia crowd that wears a lot of black. Wifi is good.

Simply the best coffee.

While it has become standard to wait for one’s coffee in coffee shops in New York City for anywhere between 15 and 30 minutes, even when it seems like there is no one in front of you in line, my wait for my drink this morning at this place was pretty epic. But even more delightful than the absurd wait time for my drink was the sarcastic mockery with which I was met when my drink was put in my hand. I had ordered a hot chocolate “extra extra hot.” Most of us who are New Yorkers know that there’s a tendency to make hot chocolates room temperature in this city. So my hack is to just order it “extra extra hot”. But the young person who was standing next to the young person who actually made my drink felt it necessary to say in a very mocking tone “but it’s like really extra extra extra hot” and roll their eyes after the person who actually made my drink handed it to me. They were not even clever enough to make fun of me, and mock me, after I had walked away. As someone who grew up working in the service industry and who even worked as a bartender and a waitress in New York City when I was in school, I understand the urge to mock customers. Fair game. But one would think you would be mindful enough to wait until they can’t hear you. Overall, my experience was about a three. The hot chocolate was pretty delicious. The young person who actually took my order initially was wonderful. But the end of the line in the coffee production at the place is a mess. If this had been a hot chocolate that cost three dollars I probably would’ve rolled with it but this was, you see, the six dollar variety of hot chocolate. So unless you’re up for six dollar hot chocolate and snide, mocking teenagers, perhaps give it a pass.
