Mexican themed wall art. Unusual options, sushi, $6 tacos swarma etc. Music pleasant but not too loud for conversations. Clean!!!
Beautiful display of sushi, the bartender Kellie was very kind and responsive.
Hello! I have heard GREAT things about Blind Owl, so I am assuming my experience was not typical. I placed an order at 5:49 PM on Saturday September 9. I was told that the place had just gotten busy, so the order would take 30 to 40 minutes. No problem.
I arrived at 6:22 PM and it looked like the food had been sitting there a LONG time. Oh well, no biggie. I noticed the inside looked really cool. The ambieance and atmopshere looked great - a sports bar / cool place rolled into one. I would give the atmopshere a light four stars.
I arrived back home and took out the food. Damn, maybe it was just because the wings were ordered Takeaway, but I don't have this problem with Detroit Wing Company. The wings were soggy and tasted like they had come out of a freezer and been put in the microwave... not good at all. Maybe if we had ordered the wings in house they would have been better. The wings were a minus stars if possible. The sushi wasn't bad and wasn't great - it was mediocre - 2.5 to 3 stars. The pulled chicken quesadilla was not good - 2 stars or less. My wife then asked me where her miso soup was. I do not make it a point of checking my orders when leaving a restaurant - that is up to the restaurant staff to get correct. Damn again, no miso soup. I called the restaurant at 7 PM and was told I would be refunded the price of the soup. That refund has still not happened. I did not mention the disgusting wings.
Again, my experience with Blind Owl is not in line with all of the great things that I have heard about the place, but personally I cannot recommend eating here. I hope if you decide to eat there your experience is better.
Parking: There are a very small number of spots in front of the building. There are no spots behind the building due to those spots belonging to the residents of the apartment building above the restaurant. I parked on a street to the west of the restaurant along the church property.
We came in for lunch and for a change of pace we decided to sit at the bar. Happy we made that choice as Kim was amazing! Great food, excellent service! Breathe of fresh air to have a mature, professional, and genuinely happy person at a local spot in town. Sushi and lamb tacos were on point. Kim mentioned brunch and we will definitely be back for that!
I recently visited Blind Owl, and while the service was good, there's room for improvement. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the kitchen was closed. However, we decided to try their sushi, which was surprisingly delicious. It was my first time at Blind Owl, and I'm looking forward to giving it another try in the future.
Good scenery… trash food
Parking: Good
Service was fantastic. Food wasn't awful but wasn't fantastic. Drinks were yummy.
Bar was a bit confusing in the sense of atmosphere- wasn't sure what the theme was
Nice upbeat bar, good food.
2nd visit was consistent again. The beef nachos with fresh diced jalapeños fried flour chips were great. The guacamole was fresh and delicious.
Karen was great. We loved the atmosphere, great vibes, great staff.
Just tried the new Ribeye. The owner suggested we have it sliced after cooking it a medium rare - then the chef dressed it with their hand chopped chimichurri with lots of fresh garlic, fresh thyme & parsley, olive oil dressing over the top. We both loved it!
We met the NEW Sushi Chef Kophone - "West side Sushi Chef comes to East Side New Baltimore!!" The sushi was wonderful - we will be back for more soon! Fresh and many flavors of Tuna, Eel, Shrimp, Snow Crab and more packed into the two special rolls created by the Chef. Beautiful presentation of the Crunchy Roll & Dragon Roll - and the sauces on the board were each a different level of spicy.
The interior decor is now completely updated with fantastic murals, natural wood, and warm colors. Warm and inviting place - very friendly staff. Lots of TVs for sports with many nice beer options at $5 a draft for any flavor! I started with an oatmeal stout and my husband had his usual Stella - both on draft.
Ordered the Trio before and for two was a lot! Guacamole, queso that was homemade, and the chipotle sauce just enough heat (choice of 4 salsa options available). Chips were how we enjoy them most - light, warm, and crispy!
A excellent choice for unique Mexican or for some nice drinks… large bar area too for those like us who enjoy meeting people.
