Love that they opened this new corner location that used to be Dorian's Diner, as it is just a block from my building. I've only tried their almond croissants because they're my absolute favorite pastry, and Black Star has one of the best I've ever had. It's light and airy, and so neat looking! The only downside is that It's not that big, and leaves you wanting more vexation it's So good! I also tried their egg and cheese croissant and it was really yummy! Also, their cold brew and regular coffee are nice and strong. One of my neighborhood faves!

Modern design, and calm coffee shop with a selection of pastries and breakfast goods. Star deduction for $.75 upcharge on non-dairy milk (or as the cafe industry still anciently calls, a "customization").

Went here a few times for brunch. Food menu is mostly Mediterranean-leaning bowls and plates, with a good-size selection of baked goods. Haven’t tried their coffee and tea but the options look good! I ordered the cauliflower bowl with falafel add-on, and the shakshuka plate with challah bread. The vibe is bright, clean, but chill. Good place to bring a friend and have a casual meal.

Very giestfriendly place. Extremly clean, every detail designed, spacious, good location at Vernon/Jackson metro station. More on the pictures! :) I suggest a little bit higher temperature and some soft chill music, light jazz, oriental or world music. Vegetarian options: Cauliflower bowl, avocado toast, mezze platter etc. Kid-friendliness: Kid chairs for babies and todlers. Wheelchair accessibility: Special entrance for wheelchairs and strollers.

The coffee and food are good, a little pricey but I think normal for the area. The breakfast burrito was good but a little overwhelming with all the sauce in it. The ambiance is lovely and the staff are friendly!

I stopped in for an afternoon caffeine pick me up. The iced green tea was refreshing, just what I needed. Staff were friendly. Looks like a cool, quiet place to get some work done or grab a light lunch. Menu items and pastries looked delicious!
