Great place for sushi. Would recommend making a booking as it was pretty busy on a Wednesday evening. The aburi sushi platter was great! The double spicy tuna roll was also really good. Service was good and overall a great sushi experience.

Unagi roll tastes good if you eat whole piece in once, minus point that big amount of black rice sticks on the decor web. Salmon Don has flavor and I recommend adding wasabi in there. We also order beef Don. Angus beef is so tasty and tender, but there is a layer of thick oil sitting on the bottom of the rice…. I think this is the place that people can enjoy the atmosphere.

Made my first reservation today and absolutely loved our time here! The atmosphere was classy and warm. Our server was attentive to our needs and seated us at the perfect table. Wish they had more vegan/veggie options but the one vegan roll they had was delicious. Thank you!

Must eat their uni sashimi, black angus nigiri, yakiniku moriawase. Also, their tiramisu mousse is just another level.

The dining experience was disappointing as we felt hurried by the server, despite spending less than an hour there. The food was also overrated. Overall, not recommended

Some people pointed out the plastic chairs, but izakayas are casual places where you can stop by after work and relieve stress with a drink. In that sense, Black Rice Izakaya is the best izakaya in downtown Vancouver. I was able to taste the highest quality food and feel a comfortable atmosphere.
