Black and Blue Restaurant

Went there to eat but there it was empty and the host told us all the cooks called out so they had no food. We left to eat somewhere.

This is a nice enough spot in the Valencia Town Center property that does a nice enough job but isn't necessarily such a great atmosphere for kids or family. They're probably not going for that, so that's okay, but my wife, teenage son and I wanted a bite and to play pool so this was where we chose to go. It's gastropub style food with some options for vegetarians including a few sides and a Beyond Burger option for any of their burgers. We weren't all that hungry and I ended up just getting a side salad which was not all that impressive...but hey, who goes to a bar and gets a side salad. I guess I'll take the hit for that one. Trying to play pool was a bit of a bummer...you have to go stand at the bar to trade your ID for pool cues and balls. I guess that shouldn't be a problem, but I stood there for quite some time before any of the bar tenders noticed me, or maybe decided to actually see if they could help me. There were more staff working in and around the bar than patrons, plus at least one party who arrived at the bar after me got taken care of before me...so I ended up just feeling not particularly important to anyone there for quite some time until they eventually asked what I wanted. That experience, as fun as it was playing pool with my soon, left me not wanting to rush back to a place that I didn't feel particularly welcome in.

This is an interesting place. Diverse crowd. Good place to meet up with friends before the movies, etc.

Good music and drinks so if you’re looking to get down on the dance floor and grab a bite to eat this is a great choice.

Dirty, smelly. Tables were all sticky! Ewwwwww.. disgusting place!
