The food was terrible. The chicken ouzo rice was flavourless and texturally seamed from a packet or microwave. The chicken itself was okay except one piece that was off that I had to spit out. The chickpea croquettes were very dry with bland bland rice. One saving grace is the dips - they were good.
Came for a light dinner and got the vegetable grill and green pizza. The dishes were simple but the flavors were excellent.
Loved the ambience, not so much the food - I'm a vegetarian so take that as you like it.
Really nice spot. Good for a date. Nice music and ambience. The server Abby was very friendly and took good care of us. The food came out fresh. The cheesecake desert was delicious.
Very good brunch. Avocado toast, and spicy sausage. Generous portions.
Food was delicious! The server was very nice and helpful with suggestions. I got the spicy lamb sausage, and it was moist and flavorful, and a good portion. Would definitely come back again.
Got takeout recently and was almost inedible
We had a wonderful Sunday night dinner at the Black Iris. We got the Mezze Plate which was very fresh, flavorful, and amazing! We also got the mixed grill. The mixed grill was awesome because we got to try several different meats: shrimp, chicken, and lamb. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. The service was awesome! Definitely going to go back and also want to try it for take out. Highly recommend
Fans of this lamb leaning mid-east joint’s food from its decades of service on Dekalb, should definitely drop by the new spot on Lafayette. The space, which many restaurants have briefly called home over the years, has never looked or felt better. Grab a seat at the full bar - yes full bar - or a table in the perfectly lit, inviting dining room and enjoy some truly lovingly prepared plates brought to you by the most genuinely friendly servers in town. I really hope this quiet corner can be home to Black Iris for their next 23 years.
