The food at this place is a disaster. I started with the avocado egg rolls, they came out hot on the outside and cold in the middle. Plus the avocado was brown- old. So I was hoping for more with an ahi tuna salad. Veggies weren’t ripe and lettuce was wilting. Tuna was seared probably this morning and was cold throughout- outside sear should be hot. By this time I’m getting frustrated. So I ask the waitress (who was very kind and patient) what they’re known for. She said “definitely the deep dish pizza.” Ok, bring me one. When it came out, I was thinking the chef is just screwing with me now… the dough was undercooked, toppings weren’t cooked and just thrown on top of the pizza— not cooked with the dough, let alone inside like deep dish should be made. Enough was enough. I asked for the check, tipped the waitress and got the hell out. Bottom line: you have to be pretty hammered to enjoy the food here, but I don’t drink so that will never happen.
Bjs is a great place to hang with a group. I think sharing a bunch of appetizers is the way to go especially on a Sunday with football since it is a sports bar with tons of TVs. Can get very loud. Now that being said I ordered the fish and chips. I was hoping for big straps of fish with a great fried batter. What I got was a handful of small filets with a very oily dense batter. The fish inside what there was of it was oily as well unfortunately. The fries were great. My friends Ahi salad was beautiful and tasty. Cocktails were good and the waitress was great as well. I did not sayanything because I did eat half. I was hungry!!
