BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

Out with the family to celebrate son's birthday lunch time on a Saturday. Not to bad on seating right away today. Most of the time have to wait for a few minutes before seating. Always come to this location love their atmosphere food and service. Usually great place to hang out to eat at a fair price and big variety of food . Today was not to impress with the food. Appetizers were good ordered the Ahi Poke and the Avocado Egg Rolls. Their new drink the Boba licious Mango Sparkler was wanting to try it out. They make it seem its a great drink was not to impress with it. My son order the prime rib, medium rare. Looked like it was well done, taste it was ok. The California Chicken Club lacked on need of some kind of dressing to dry. At to top it off we ordered a Classic Prime Rib Dip Sandwich . And the dip wasn't served till almost 15 minutes later, by the way it was a bit salty as well. Bacon Cheese Burger and the BJ's Classic Pizza were great. But nothing to do with our friendly and kind waiter named Charlie. Manager on duty did come and apologize on minor incident of missing Dip for the Sandwich. And also adjusted it on our bill. Not a great experience today.

Food was pretty good, and service a little slow.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. The service was good and we received all of our orders in a timely fashion. The food and drinks were good, nothing amazing but still good. We got a few different types of margaritas and they were all good, my favorite was the lavender margarita.

Took our kids out for a family dinner. Arrived early enough to beat the Friday night rush. I was really disappointed that our host could find us a booth to sit in with a half empty restaurant (with multiple empty booths). I have 4 children and as most parents know, kids can get a bit antsy after a meal and a booth helps resist the urge to get up from their seat. The reason was that due to limited staff they couldn't give us a booth.. limited staff on a Friday afternoon?? I'm very disappointed. We come here often but not so sure anymore. Oh and we saw you seat another famiy in a booth next to the table you offered us.

I have been to BJ's many times and I have to say that I feel the service is declining a bit. I do admit I am making this review based off of going at lunch time on a thursday. I came in and the restaurant was not full but it was definitely busy. There was no wait for a seat. After taking my seat the server did come up promptly to ask if my party needed any drinks. After that point she came by once to ask us if we were ready to order, we did ask for a little extra time. That little extra time turned into over 10 minutes. We had to actually waive her down in order to take our order. Once the order was taken the food service was extremely slow. I had ordered a soup and salad lunch combo and only my salad came. They told me my soup was coming right away but it did not show up until I was pretty much done with more than half of my salad...also, thry brought thr wrong soup. This was actually an unlimited soup and salad order and so I had placed another order for salad and soup as soon as I saw our server walked by and again it came out an odd staggered timing. In total between myself and the other people in my party we had five or six different soup bowls at different times and not a single Bowl was hot. I understand that people come here for beer and pizza but I'm pretty bummed out that I ordered something else on their menu and it was fairly mediocre. Would this stop me from coming back? No I'm pretty sure I will be back at some point, but I just need to know that maybe lunch time is not a good time to eat there and that I should give myself a lot of time when deciding to have a sit-down meal here.
