I recently dined at this restaurant and had a delightful experience overall. The ambiance was cozy, the service and drink selection impressive. The desserts were a highlight. However, I must mention that the mussels were a bit grainy and had an off taste. I appreciate the overall effort and would still recommend it as a nice dining experience.
Really enjoyed our dinner at Bistro Campagne! Had the restaurant week menu. I got the French onion soup, chicken, and crème brûlée. My partner got the mussels, steak frites, and bread pudding. We also opted for the bread service which came with really great sides of salted European butter, roasted garlic, and lemon butter. Very nice serving sizes for everything, leaving us full and happy! Everything tasted really good flavor wise except the bread pudding - suuuper strong in flavor and had raisins in it. Had we known, we probably would have opted for something else. The crème brûlée was a bit overdone on the top, causing a burnt taste. Also, the chicken was a bit room-temp/cold. If that was served hot, probably would have been my favorite chicken dish in Chicago! We will definitely be back. This was a great experience.
Had dinner here for a date night during Chicago restaurant week. Everything was spectacular. We had the French onion soup, mussels, poulet roti forestiere, steak frites, crème brûlée, and pain perdu. Everything was done perfectly and service was also amazing. We’ll be back after restaurant week for sure.
I have been here previously for brunch and loved it. This time I went for restaurant week and was totally predictable in my selections: French onion soup, steak frites, and pot de creme (maybe the only shake up). I added the bread and butter, too. Everything was fantastic. I am definitely putting this into my rotation more frequently.
Fantastic Restaurant Week experience. Every course was delicious. And, a terrific value. We can’t wait to go back.
Just had dinner here during Chicago Restaurant Week and what a fabulous start to RW! Bistro Campagne has one of the best value RW menus I have ever seen. $42 for French onion soup, steak frites, and dessert. The portions were great, normal size portions. We left feeling very full and very satisfied. The steak was cooked to perfection. The dessert was so good that I was already full after my steak and hadn’t intended to eat much of it but it was so delicious that I ate the whole thing anyway. It tasted like a brownie pudding with dark chocolate chunks. The service was superb! I couldn’t recommend it more. Parking: What’s really nice is that there is a large parking lot right across the street from Bistro Campagne. All of the spots are Pay to Park same as street parking.
Unreal. They hit it out the park, caught it, and drove it the extra mile.
