Bishop's Chili

Exactly what I was looking for The service went above and beyond on a cold winter night. The place was packed. Vegetarian options: They have a grilled cheese sandwich, and the cheese is pretty good quality. I topped it with onions and jalapenos and it was delish. I appreciate the vegetarian recommendation. Chili is not vegetarian, but the service went above and beyond.

Good local neighborhood vibes, good chili and good service. Nothing fancy, we just say at the bar and enjoyed a nice bowl of chili with all the usual fixins (onion, oyster crackers, cheese). Served with a selection of hot sauces. Chili was tasty and the atmosphere was friendly, we'll definitely be back! Parking: Parking lot in the back!

I remember as a kid, my Mom loved 18th & Damen, and mostly I remember Forest Park location, both were very good. ***Unfortunately, about 20 years ago I got a large bucket of their chili for a big family dinner from the Westmont location, and it was terrible; the consistency was watery and it tasted like there was soap in it; I've never gone back~

Everything about this place is exactly as it appears. It's a small place. The vibes inside are perfect. The atmosphere is perfect if you're coming in to hang out and have a good time. This is the best chili I've ever had. Yes, it's better than the one your mom makes. The service is wonderful. We had a small "for here" order and a large "to-go" order and everything was taken care of perfectly.

So sad that chili was so bad, recipe was really changed from the times in Forest Park. Kept telling my family I remembered how good it was.. I even called friends who were also disappointed.
