Great appetizers and selection of fun drinks!
We were in town over Memorial Day weekend and went twice. Both times with large parties. We called ahead both times to ensure they could accommodate us, and both times we were assured that they could. The first time, Friday evening, service was slow. The server was sweet but inexperienced, with no help on a busy night, and the wait between drinks, apps, more drinks, and dinner was quite long. Drinks were delicious and the food was good too. The second time, Sunday evening, we came with a group of 17 after being assured that they could handle us, no problem. Drinks were tasty. Service was about the same speed, and we were hungry. When I finally got my burger, I noticed that the egg on top was raw. Not over easy; I'm talking a clear, runny egg white. I told the server and she said "no, it's sunny side up." I told her no one else had a clear white on the burger and showed it to her again. Then she said "well, we only have one person in the kitchen." I understand being short staffed, but that's not an excuse to serve unsafely prepared food. She never apologized or admitted wrongdoing. The manager eventually came out, very apologetic, and comped most of our meals, some of which hadn't even come out yet. We called ahead both times specifically to avoid this. The management should have turned us away if they didn't have the staff to accommodate us. Large parties beware!
The new menu has fun a “Hawaiian” themed vibe and quality that now matches the Vera Bradley brand. Previous experiences didn’t match up for the expectation. That is not the case now! Good that tastes as good as it is Instagram worthy! Once word gets out, it wont be long until you’re going to need a reservation to get in on the weekend again.
Great food and great atmosphere with friends.
I tried this place for a second time after a bad first time. It's still bad and expensive. It was one of the worst burgers I have ever had and it costs 18 dollars. There way better places in Fort Wayne.
