Big Mike's Soul Food

My family and I found this place by chance. For dine in, we ordered waffles and chicken, Mike's big plate with chicken and another Mike's big plate with fried pork chops. We really loved everything. Our side dishes were Mac n cheese, collard greens, rice n gravy and mash n gravy and candied yams. The candied yams and Mac were the highlight! Our waitress was attentive and awesome. We came back later to order to go and for that one we ordered the shrimp boil, shrimp n grits and peach cobbler and chicken. I have to say the shrimp n grits were good but was missing something like chives or green onions and just a hearty seasoning. The peach cobbler tasted like it had too much lemon in it but everything else was fine! Next time on vacation we will definitely be back!!!!

We came here while in Myrtle Beach from reading the reviews. We wanted to find a mom and pop place. Reviews drew us. We got fried and grilled fish, mac n cheese, candied yams, peach cobbler, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. The fish both friend and grilled were HORRIBLE. It smelled and tasted like old fish. We couldn't eat it. The sides left quite a bit to be desired. We definitely didn't feel the soul food with this experience. I do not recommend.

Wow oh wow! Food was DELICIOUS! Yes we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, seating very limited inside, BUT definitely worth the wait!! And prices were unbelievably affordable, especially for the servings of food! Great menu, service was good, and found out afterwards could of had peach cobbler for free using coupon in one of those coupon visitor books lol! Would definitely recommend!! Mac n cheese my fave!!

Next time, I'll try another "little mike". Interesting menu with good variety. Very southern with collard greens, okra, etc. Good value. Want to visit again!

Big mikes!! OMG! This was the best soul food I have had in a long time! Everything was perfect! The seasoning was right on point. Not too salty like some other soul food places! The cashier at the front was so nice and friendly! Thank you so much!
