Great cider and a must if you're visiting Monterey in Highland Co. VA.
Amazing cider and wonderful atmosphere! Reasonably priced, nice staff, great place to stop!
Fantastic ciders in the most beautiful town in VA! Staff recommended the Wild Meadow cider to me and it's exactly what I was looking for. Tangy wild apple flavor with a hint of floral really hit the spot!
Great cider and friendly people
Nice brut style ciders ranging from dry to semi-dry, but no still or sweet ciders, at least those that were offered in the flights. The place was busy due to the Highland Maple Festival, but had good service and the local celtic band was enoyabe.
Saw this place was in a phamplet in Franklin. I have a relative and another friend that likes cider so I stopped by but they have very limited hours in winter ...couple days a week. I had returned to my car and was pulling off when I saw someone come out of another building and go to the entrance. I pulled up and asked if he worked here. He said he did and was the cider maker/owner. They did not open for another couple hours. I asked who sold his product in town and he listed a couple places. I said I was going to go and buy some. I was pulling off when he said 'if you are wanting to purchase a couple bottles come on in'. He gave me a quick cider tutorial and explained his ciders. Even gave me a taste of what he had in tap. So nice and did not have to do that. His place was tastefully decorated. Can't wait to check them out when they are open.
Hip little establishment, tastefully decorated, and easily located. Jessa is the consummate host, bar none; friendly, informative and receptive without being intrusive or overbearing. Such a wonderful first visit! Enjoying good local products in a tasteful atmosphere doesn't have to wreck your budget, and this place is proof. Take it from an Appalachian boy who grew up making cider: Big Fish ciders are authentic, impressive, and worth the drive. (Pictured: the bottle of last year's Blackberry that we took home to celebrate the New Year. Slainte'!)
