Unfriendly staff. Unnecessarily salty food. I tried all three chickens and they all taste either too salty (kung pao) or too sweet (orange and sesame). All very gingery too. I wouldn’t recommend eating here
$16.95 ($18.94 after tax) for a one entree bowl that typically would cost about half in a similar places not at an airport location. Food taste was just okay. Portion was reasonable. But if there are other similar restaurants in the same terminal, I would try other place first. It was quick service though. Kung Pao was SPICY!
I ordered the tofu meal (I forgot the exact name) because I really like deep fried tofu, which is what the picture showed. When I actually got the food I was served a plate which mostly vegetables and rice along with a handful of soggy tofu cubes. Not at all what was advertised in the photo. And I paid over 18 USD after tax for it. They also had plastic everything — apart from the straw, of course, which was paper. I get that if you need to be at your gate you probably don't want something you need to return, but I was eating there. So despite the photos showing nice red plates, I was given some plastic container that then later would be thrown away in the trash. The (free) water also tasted bad, but I guess that's the city of Chicago's fault. Vegetarian options: There was a meal which used tofu as protein. I don't know if it was vegan or just vegetarian.
I visited this spot specifically to try their orange chicken. Unfortunately, upon arrival, the dish looked dry, and my fears were confirmed when I tasted it – the chicken lacked moisture. The fried rice seemed like it had been sitting for a while. On the positive side, the service was quick, and the staff was pleasant. Regrettably, I couldn't finish my bowl after just two bites. The pricing felt a bit high for the quality. I'd caution against ordering if you're expecting well-sauced meats.
The Terminal 5 sucks. But the sesame chicken here was really quite good.
I ordered a combo plate (rice, beef broccoli, sesame chicken) just tasted weird. Be careful the beef and broccoli has mushrooms in it, which I think is weird. The sesame chicken had big pieces of ginger in it that was overpowering to me. It also had undercooked onions that had the raw taste onion taste = bad breath. All the meat where cut up in tiny pieces. And like others stated over priced but it's in the airport so it makes sense.
Worst big bowl location sun sun you just lost the business of me and all my co workers with your terrible customer service. If your reading this stay away bad service, over priced , low quality meat (tough and chewy).
