I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. 2 weeks ago I went to the restaurant with 3 others and two out of the three got horribly sick on the lobster napoleon. It was definitely the lobster as we went to the emergency room and was advised we had some bad seafood. It was so embarrassing to take people out and have them and myself get sick. It will be a very long time before I go back or recommend this establishment. Don't be a victim!!
Superb lunch and view! Highly recommend!
Dining at Bergdorfs is something that shouldn’t be missed. We had a reso for 1:15 for 4. We were seated at a round top in the middle isle of the restaurant and tucked all the way in the back. This location of the table was good and bad at the same time which I will review at the end. Our choices were difficult as everything on the menu was fabulous. Our first thought was tea but at the end we ordered entree’s from the menu. Each different and lovely. Braised short rib, jumbo crab cake salad, roasted brussel sprouts and cauliflower steak and roasted chicken salad. I think most everyone thought the crab cake was the best choice. For those that have shellfish allergies there are many choices. I being one of them chose the cauliflower and brussel sprouts. Cauliflower was perfection. Sprouts could have been roasted another 10 min but were fine. Chicken salad gorgeous with a poached pear on top and the perfect size. Braised short ribs soft off the bone with a really nice selection of veg. Crabcake large and beautiful and served beautifully on greens. The starlight martini is a must to try. So fresh and gold stars that are sweetly floating on top and turn to a misty glittery glaze on top. Stars get stuck on lips and are just so beautiful. That was fun. We also ordered two martinis and tried two desserts at the end. Tacky date Pudding and chocolate hazelnut something. Both amazing and perfectly shared between 4 For a sweet bite at the end. The water glasses are Worth mentioning and are unique and wonderful to drink from. A special late lunch we talked and laughed and added to the already chatty atmosphere and enjoyed the absolutely rainy view outside. Our server was fantastic and appropriate timing wise and also described the entrees beautifully. She was a joy. Lastly, which I didn’t discuss with our group because I would never want to bring up a negative, was the table location. While it was tucked away inside the restaurant, our table was next to the server computer area. Busy with servers working the computer, they bumped my chair and coat on the chair every time they passed me. It was bothersome to me but I don’t think my family noticed. It’s worth mentioning because Bergdorfs wouldn’t have put a celebrity there. Many people would have asked to be seated somewhere less busy. I didn’t want to ruin our excitement with something negative so we sat there. I would suggest from the start next time on a table somewhere further away from the server station. Also, tables just inside the entry are small and people are passing you constantly would not be the place to sit. We noticed these tables when leaving and visiting the restroom. Ideally tables in middle of the restaurant, whether on the window or wall or middle isle are all good choices. Window seats are nice but I wouldn’t obsess over them. Our table while being near servers was not passed by anyone coming or leaving which felt nice so there is a positive to the tables in far back. Lunch drinks or dessert here is something to not be missed. Do it.
We made a reservation for high tea. While we were waiting for our table to be ready, this lady projectile vomits in the middle of the restaurant. It is by no means the restaurant’s fault but we were so disgusted that it killed our appetite. If this was some all you can drink spot, I would not be as shocked but in a place like Bergdorfs, this is u expected. The vomit almost touches my coat, luckily it did not get on me. The food was delicious especially the scones. Our waiter was very accommodating, someone in our party had food allergies and he made sure to separate her food and replaced some items with others. Overall it was a lovely expensive minus the vomiting!
Went here for Afternoon Tea for my birthday and it was a lovely experience !!! Not only did the iconic Bergdorf Goodman Restaurant view of Central Park exceed our expectation but our waiter, Shuba, made sure to give us the best experience he could and truthfully, he was exceptional. He was extremely attentive and kind and friendly and professional and made sure that we enjoyed our time there and felt very comfortable. The teas were good (especially the Jardin Bleu) and all the food was delicious - you can tell it was all fresh. I hope to come back soon for lunch/dinner service :)
Tiny restaurant with a big heart! Great light menu & very nice tea service. Typical upscale NYC prices - BUT - not - outlandish! Has nice vegetarian options. Dee-licious deviled eggs! I am looking forward to returning. This is a very nice place to go! You will enjoy its simple pleasures. Wheelchair accessibility: Alas, there are a few stairs down to this restaurant. I expect they could be managed if one calls ahead.
Must try after long shopping day Located inside historical shopping mall If your lucky with street view probably your experience might be exceptional Friendly staff, quick service
Great afternoon tea experience.
