I got my tickets for free, so can’t complain too much, but this is literally a 45 minute power point presentation on the history of PBR, you walk through maybe 2 rooms, and that is the extent of this “tour.” The guide barely keeps the group in a room for long enough to venture around and take everything in. Then yeah.. you go to a big room and watch a 45 minute PowerPoint on PRB. That’s literally all this is. Was expecting to at least tour some of the other buildings, but you will likely be as disappointed as I was.
My boyfriend and I went here back in October and loved it so much we ended up coming back there every other day for coffee. We even took the tour and had a much more fun time than either of us expected. I've been coming to this place on and off for awhile for the never-disappointing coffee courtesy of Anodyne, and I would be quick to recommend this cafe to anyone staying in the Pabst district. Nothing beats the charm of this place. I will keep those memories of our days watching the hands of autumn fall on Milwaukee with him forever in my heart.
Great tour Fun Atmosphere Best Beer
The tour was not your usual tour talking about how beer is made and showing it being made. Instead, the tour covers the history of how the brewery started and how it changed over the years. Much of the woodwork and paintings are original to the locations you walk through. Even the meaning to the labeling on the can is covered. Spoiler alert, Pabst never won a Blue Ribbon. The tour includes a free beer with refills only costing $4.00. Like the new owner says, good tasting beer at a cheap beer price never goes out of style. Parking: Went on a Sunday and had no problem finding street parking. If you go on a Saturday or weekday, will probably be more of a problem.
Freshest PBR you'll ever have! The tour is packed full of Americana history and Mark was a fantastic guide through it all. Beer just tastes better the more you know about it. The giftshop has every type of souvenir you could want to take home with you, too!
I signed up for the history tour, but unfortunately it turned into a conversation between a group of 8-10 people that were friends of the tour guide. They kept interrupting him and chatting about their own experiences and agitated everyone else who paid for the tour. We ended up sitting in a room for an hour because the guide couldn’t get through his presentation. I really hope other tours don’t experience this, as my group and a couple others had to walk out before we could see the other parts of the building due to the unruly friend group of the tour guide. There was good information presented on the tour, so I’m hoping to try this tour again in the near future with a different guide.
