Doughnuts are pretty tasty. I'll have to try the pizza pie next time.

This place probably has some of the top donuts in the area. I am pretty sure they have a trained pastry cook/chef on staff because this is the only place out of 20+ donut spots that actually makes their own pastry cream in the Boston Cream. You can taste the real egg and minimal ingredients. They use potatoes in the dough which gives it the best texture. The only other shop I have found that uses potatoes is shipleys in aurora and its potato flour. I am pretty sure Berkley uses whole potatoes which sets them apart. It also seems this place uses yeast starter the pizza shop started years ago. The lady that rang me up said "hope to see you again". No other shop has said that, simple words can invoke deep feelings. They were happy I took time out my day to come spend my $ with them. Maybe I was too focused on the donuts in front of me, but I didn't see any literature on the effort and thought that went into these donuts. It would be nice to let the unsuspecting(probably most) in shop customers know the amount of care that goes into these donuts. 9 year old inhouse starter, enriched with potato, proper pastry creams! They take extra time to stamp their own paper to-go bags and not a generic and gimmicky "you deserve a donut" box. HECK YEAH! Take my money, and daily calorie allotment lol

My friend described the lemon poppyseed as "the best donut I've ever had" and I was blown away by the apple cider variety. This place slaps.

This place is found inside of “Hops and Pie”. They had some helpful signs to show the way(see my pictures). They do sourdough and regular cake donuts and the sourdough donuts are really interesting. You get the flavor of whatever kind of donut it is plus this unique sour from the sourdough that makes it complex and delicious. We got a Lemon Poppyseed, and Vanilla Porter coffee-cake sourdoughs, and a salted Carmel chocolate cake doughnut, and some more donuts from a couple other places, ate them all with friends. and the Lemon Poppyseed was all our favorite. The coffee-cake was also very good. The salted Carmel chocolate was way too salty, and we ended up pitching it. Overall, the first two were some all-star donuts, and can’t wait to get more.I got to this place soon after it opened on a Sunday and there was already a line of 6 people inside, and several has placed orders online. I’m guessing they sell out fast.Update: You can order online and pick them up at whenever in the morning, so you don't have to worry about them selling out of the ones you want. Super nice.
