Good food but the music is obnoxiously loud and there's a sewage leak somewhere. I smelled sewage gases the whole time near the back wall.
Time to fully avoid Baretta on Divis. Extremely rude host. Came in today at 11 for brunch, barely anyone in restaurant. The host barely acknowledged us, sat us down and then we waited for 10 minutes just to get water. Waited another 10 minutes, and ended up leaving. Most other tables were frustrated as well.
Had a great meal here tonight. Had the calamari and olives for appetizers, both excellent. The pizza was outstanding, especially the crust….nice and crispy all the way through and not overloaded with cheese and grease. Cocktails, wine and beer all solid. Prices were reasonable also. Will definitely be back!
Fabulous crispy thin-crust pizza. Low key vibe, with a huge shelf of liquor. Not to $$
Food was great, waitstaff not so much, and the atmosphere was on shaky ground. Arrived at 5 without reservations, and outside of 3 people at the bar it was empty. It took over 5 minutes for them to find a table, and it was in back at a long "shared" table. The server got 2 items wrong on the order from a weird behavior of arguing and not listening, all solved had they just repeated back the order. The noise level was ridiculously loud. Rap music played so loud you couldn't hear others at you table. So we all has the talk louder, and the table across the room doing the same meant the place was very loud. Made me wonder if the manager had a hearing problem. The food was great, barring the ordering errors. So it wasn't a bust. I don't see them serving unless they fix front of house
I love the mission location but this location lacks basic service. First time I went, it was 80% empty yet it took 10 mins for the waiter to sit us. This time we waited for 15 minutes and there was a line behind us while the restaurant was 90% empty yet no waiters were sitting anyone down. There were folks walking by and completely ignoring people waiting. Left and had an amazing meal next door at the French place. Do not come here.
Solid 2.5ish stars. Really want to like this place as it would be a great easy neighborhood go-to spot when you can't decide where to eat. But I haven't liked it either visit, both its early covid pop up outdoors only days, and this weekend. Pretty sure I got sick from the seafood linguine. It was generous but not flavorful. The "crostini" were just plain pieces of toast with no oil, dip, butter... Winter Salad was fine. The service was rather neglectful and MIA. The atmosphere was hip but really sterile and the music did not match at all... Hyper pop and rap. Good desserts, super rich gelatos. Want to like it, but don't think I'll be back at this point. Maybe the pizzas are a better way to go though?
We usually come here for the food, but I'm seriously considering stopping and writing this review because the hosts were really mean the last couple of times. We're a party of two, and despite reservations, they insist on seating us at high-top tables, claiming other tables are reserved when several are available. This happened even with a reservation, making us wait for 30 minutes despite empty tables. Pictures attached. Awful customer service
