Benihana

It was a very nice time. Went for a birthday dinner. Our chef prepared our food very well. He probably could have interacted a bit more with the today, but it was towards the end of the night, and he just seemed a bit tired. He still did the main tricks everyone looked forward to, so that was nice. He got everyone order just right. Even tho some made it a bit complicated. He handled like a champ. Everything was delicious!

We went to Benihana on Sunday afternoon. I have been wanting to go for some time. I read the reviews prior to going and I was surprised to read so many negative comments. I am happy to report that my experience was very good. We booked in open table for 2:15 and we were at out table at 2:35. The server took our drinks order. Shortly after our dinner order. While they were prepping our order in the back, we got our soup and salad. While waiting for our chef we had great conversation and even enjoyed other tables “show”. Our food was great; Javier, our chef, did a great job. Our server as well. In addition, the place has improved their exhaust system and it does not feel stuffy as I recall from my last visit several years back. Keep up the good work! Parking: Good and spacious

I have been to Benihana many times and it gets worse and worse every time. I walked in with my family and was not greeted, finally the employee recognized us standing there asked if we had reservations. We had an 8:30 pm reservation, checked us in and said we would be seated shortly almost an hour later we were still waiting and we finally let the attendee know we were leaving, only for her to say we were next up. Poor service and the restaurant was not clean! Highly do not recommend making a reservation or especially dining!

Have had a reservation for 2 days, at 630 today, it is currently 717 and I'm still waiting for my RESERVED tabled.

Benihana was my very first hibachi experience. I have visited this location countless times over the last 20 years. It use to be a treat, a special occasion whenever we visited for whatever reason. Over the years it has fallen off drastically. Due to the numerous other hibachi options and the past experiences we have had we now only go this Benihana once a year when my husband receives his birthday coupon ($30 off when you spend $30 or more). This will be our last visit to the Cincinnati location regardless of coupon or not. What has been consistent over the last few decades for me is the time it takes you from entering the restaurant to leaving. On 2/1/24 we arrived at 658 and we left at 943pm. We did not have reservations but sat at the table at 730. We got our drinks immediately but the soup didn’t come until 815 and the salad 840. Cook came out at 853. We were waiting so long the KIDS started to fall asleep and the adults were all in their phones. The vegetable portion was comparable to a child portion. I had seafood which was cooked entirely too long. My shrimp was extremely tough! The rice was hard, everyone at the table noticed and when we asked to speak to the manager about it, (not only did she not come out but she sent a statement back) the server came back and said, “She said she know the rice is hard cause our steamer is broke”! Where was this information before I ordered???? Only due to the fact that we had a birthday coupon that I didn’t return all the food. She did credit us 6.50 for each fried rice we ordered. And why is it your hibachi meal come with white rice but your charged full price of fried rice?? Shouldn’t that just be an upgrade? Far as the prices go it is severely over priced. Even thou we were there for dinner I was curios about the lunch deals and deals they were not!!!! All lunch hibachi was over $20, dinner $37 or better. The hibachi places I frequent lunches are less than $20. (All thanks Nasu Japanese Hibachi ) The server was doing the best she could but she had the whole room and then it appeared she may have been pulled to assist with the other room as well. We got up to get the water pitcher to refill for ourselves. This experience is enough to say, this Benihana will never get any more of my money or time.

The bartender / server was cursing and rude. She refused to serve anyone else because she was upset with her coworkers. We ALWAYS sit at the bar for drinks and food and she claim they haven't served at the bar for a while which is an absolute lie! The young man at the front desk is confused. The place is like a circus.

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Pointless to make a reservation. Dishonest hostess and incredibly lengthy time to be seated. Spoiled a birthday gathering.

My second time here and both times were horrible. I call myself giving them another chance thinking maybe it was just the staff from that day.. well this time was even worse, the server messed up my order as well as the hibachi chef not to mention we got there at 2pm and didn’t leave until 4:11 mind you it was only 4 ppl at our table the rice was hard and the shrimp was dry and over cooked let’s just say I’ll never go back again and I’ll be calling corporate monday

Food was great, cook had great personality, waitress and hostess were great
