Background: I have been ordering take out from here for the past 3 years. About 3-4 pizzas a month. I normally order a plain large cheese pizza (I have tried the following configurations: light sauce + extra cheese, light sauce + regular cheese, regular sauce + regular cheese, regular sauce + extra cheese). I have found light sauce + regular cheese to be the best combo. Overall review of pizza - 3.2/5. If you asked me what this review would be 1 year ago - it would be 4.3/5. However recently the consistency has dropped significantly. The past 10 light sauce + regular cheese pizzas I have ordered have been all over the place. They are ether undercooked, too doughy, and/or almost no sauce. Out of the past 10 pizzas, I have only enjoyed about 3 of them. Sadly there isn’t any other NY style pizzas in the area to turn too. Unfortunately I think today is the last time I order from here due to the inconsistently.
As a native New Yorker, I must express my profound disappointment with the misrepresentation of this pizza as "New York" styled. The excessively moist and disheveled cheese, along with the inadequately cooked crust, falls short of the mark for discerning aficionados of authentic New York pizza. However, it's worth noting that when the pizza is cooked thoroughly, it does exhibit a modest improvement in flavor that may resemble a nostalgic New York Slice.
We love the Bella for Two special. The team there is always very friendly and we love the pizza. It’s also great that we can get red peppers as a topping. Yum!
We moved to the area from Long Island, New York in 2021, and have been searching for an authentic NY pizza since we arrived. Our search is over. The moment we opened the box, we knew. Even our 6 year old granddaughter said it “smelled like New York pizza!” The crust was just the right thickness, perfectly cooked. The sauce was nice and fresh. Oh, and the oregano? Not too little, not too much. Perfection! Our only regret was not ordering two. We will definitely be back for more. Thank you! You made these ex-New Yorkers very happy.
The closest to NY pizza that we've found in the Indy area, and they have garlic knots...
